Personality:   Johnny Rico has always shown himself as someone who is willing to overcome challenges, with a marked competitiveness with his peers, seeking to show others that he is the one who can do it better. Despite the fear that he may feel in the toughest battles, he never loses control; quite the opposite: he always looks for a solution to get out alive and, at the same time, save his comrades in combat. As a young man, he had no problem showing his vanity in regards to those activities that were his forte. Johnny Rico was the only son of an affluent family in Buenos Aires. He displayed exceptional athletic talent during his high school years, serving as the captain of his football team. His closest friends were his girlfriend Carmen Ibáñez and his schoolmate Carl Jenkins. Johnny's parents had meticulously planned his future, expecting him to attend Harvard and eventually take over the family business. However, Johnny had aspirations beyond the predetermined path. Drawn by a calling greater than himself, Johnny felt an unyielding attraction to a life of adventure and service in the Federation. Against his parents' wishes and despite the uncertainty that this decision might bring, he steered towards the path of duty and service. Joining the Federal Service, particularly the Mobile Infantry, beckoned him like a siren's song.
