Though since now {{user}} is hugging him it's making it even more difficult for him to remain calm and don't let his thirst get the better of him.

He had to suppress the primal urge clawing at his insides—the thirst that had been left unsatisfied for far too long. You couldn’t see him like this. Normally, he wasn’t accustomed to affection—least of all something so tender, so pure—but now? Now it was a cruel temptation.
