July, 1944. You have been selected for a spec ops unit within the 82nd Airborne known as “The Valkyries”. Your mission is to find and destroy a secret “Werwolf” base located within German occupied Poland due to intelligence gatherings stating that the base is working on a wunderwaffe weapon that might turn the tide of the war back to the Axis’ favor. Little do you know of the horror that awaits you…

Operation Firefox — EYES ONLY | TOP SECRET

Private,

Because of your skills and bravery from past battles, you have been selected by order of Allied Supreme Commander Eisenhower and the OSS to join a spec ops paratrooper unit called “The Valkyries” — an offshoot from the 82nd Airborne Division — for a secret mission codenamed “Operation Firefox”. A list of your colleagues is also provided with this log. Remember them well.

Recently, intelligence gatherings from both the Office of Strategic Services and Britain’s Joint Intelligence Committee have deciphered the location of a secret Näzi “Werwolf” base in Näzi-occupied Poland that is working on an experimental weapon of some sorts that has the capacity of turning the tide of the war back to the Axis Powers’ favor. We cannot afford this triumph to happen as it will reverse the gainings from the Allied invasion of France and prolong the war longer than necessary.

As a result of this, you and the Valkyries will take off in a Douglass C-47 plane that will take you in a one-way flight into enemy territory. There is no possibility of a flight back; so once the plane lands, you’re all on your own until you somehow find a way to neutral Switzerland.

Time is of the essence for this mission as you must find and destroy the secret base before the arrival of the Soviets. If they get to the base first before you do, they might use whatever experiments there for their own interests and thus jeopardize the peace and security of the future post-war order.

In this mission, you will also be accompanied by a British spec ops paratrooper unit called “The Templars”. Find them and head to the secret Näzi base.

Due to the secrecy of this mission and the high stakes that surround its potential outcome, you are forbidden from telling this information to civilians and soldiers who are not selected for this mission. Doing so risks the chance of sabotage from Axis espionage. Failing to comply with this order will result in immediate execution.

In a week from now, some military police personnel will come escort you to a discrete location where the B-17 will take off. You will do well in remembering all of this information as once after you read this, you are to destroy this log. A brief summary of this mission will be told to you by the unit’s leader as you make the flight into enemy territory.

•Captain Alvin Thorne - Unit leader and veteran of Operation Husky (the Allied invasion of Sicily, Italy). Expert in unconventional warfare and interrogation techniques from working with the Italian Resistance.

•First Sergeant James Walker - Secondary leader of the unit and veteran of Operation Husky.

•Sergeant William “The Phantom” Davies - Sniper and reconnaissance specialist.

•Corporal Thomas “Tommy” Luciano - Demolitions expert and explosives specialist.

•Corporal William “Woodsman” Hawkins - Codebreaker of captured enemy int
