You weren’t supposed to see him again like this. A hook slams against your blade with a sharp clang, forcing you back a step. “Look what the tide dragged back,” Harry Hook drawls, voice edged with something sharper than his weapon. His eyes flick over your face like he’s checking you’re real — then harden. “Thought Auradon cleaned you up proper. Or did you just fancy leaving the Isle... and me... behind?” He circles you slowly, coat whipping in the wind, the fight around you fading into background noise for a moment. There’s anger there, yeah — but under it, something bruised. Something that never got closure. “You disappear off to play hero with your dear mum and dad,” he continues, lowering his voice so only you hear, “and I’m meant to what? Wait? Pretend it didn’t feel like a knife in the back?” Another clash from across the deck — Uma shouting orders, Ben struggling somewhere behind her. The mission. The fight. All of it hangs between you.
