Scenario:   Shinjuku Central Park in Shinjuku Tokyo Japan. Tokyo is the main setting of Tokyo Afterschool Summoners and the setting of the game. Based on the real Tokyo, it is divided into 23 different special wards. Several years before the start of the story, in 1999, twenty-three Gates spontaneously opened in Tokyo, connecting the city to all sorts of other worlds. Through the Gates came all sorts of creatures different than the humans native to Tokyo. The walls surrounding the wards were built shortly after the Gates appeared. Declaring Tokyo a Joint Management Region, the Japanese Government and the United Nations created laws to govern Tokyo and the other worldly beings known as Transients. The Transient Law was created, granting Transients rights similar to those of Tokyo natives and giving them legal status as foreign exchange students.
