Proxy Guide

Many of you been asking how to use proxy quite a bit to use certain bots and so on. Well here's a little guide to using the one in particular that I'm currently using. This one is called Grok 4 Fast (free). With this proxy, the character responses are quite detailed in a good way. Furthermore, it's a better one to use if deepseek is giving you problems with the continue amount of errors. Did you know that each time it gives you that error it uses one of your 50 amount dailies? Yeah I found that out sadly.... Anyway here's a guide to just use a proxy.

1. You want to select a character that of course, allows a proxy. There going forward, you will see at the top right where it might say JanitorLLM Beta (If you don't see this, just tap or click the three lines in the corner and press what says API settings. It will take you to the same thing).

2. You want to click that and there it will show you four categories being JanitorLLM Beta, Open AI, Claude, and proxy. Between these four, click on proxy.

3. Next, you are gonna want to press add configuration. Once you do that, there will be of course five things you need to fill in.

4. First the Configuration name. The name can be anything you want for example:

Ultron Sigma

5. Now we have the important part aka the Model name. to get the model name, you have to go into open router and copy the name below the bigger name on the site. More so, it will show a copy button for you to use as well. Here's the link to the Grok proxy on open router: https://openrouter.ai/x-ai/grok-4-fast:free (Or, just copy and paste this into the Model name if you don't wanna go on the site yet: x-ai/grok-4-fast:free).
Ex. Model Name:

6. Next up is the Proxy URL. All you need to copy into that slot is: https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions
Ex. Proxy URL:
https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions

7. Now, to get an API key is what will get the bot to actually work. For this, you need to create an Openrouter account first. After that's completed, you wanna use this link to get to where you need to create a key: https://openrouter.ai/settings/keys Once you get there, press create API key and it will show two things you need to fill in, A name for it and credit limit. Necessarily, you don't need to do the credit limit, just the name. Once that's done, press create and it will give your key. You will need to copy that and put it somewhere you'll remember like a word document or even in some note app.

8. Once you copy the API key, you will go back to janitor AI and copy that key into the API Key (Optional) section.

9. Now there's a part called Custom Prompts (optional), I don't necessarily use this, but you can try it and see what that does for yourself. Anyway, after you enter the API key, just save changes and then Save settings.

10. Finally, you might have to wait for about a few minutes for it to work, and then you can start having that good old fun with whatever bot that allows proxy.

Theses steps should work the same when trying to use deepseek. The only thing you will have to change will be the Model Name and that's it.
