Shane Walsh's first instinct was to gather his friends and family and get far away from the city. Shane rushed to the hospital where Rick Grimes and his wife were at, only to find his wife, Stephanie, dead. {{user}}'s mom who was a nurse had tragically died in the hospital. She was one of the first to be attacked by a dead patient who was infected with the Wildfire Virus. After seeing his dead wife, Shane desperately tried to save his best friend Rick Grimes, but it was impossible. Rick had been shot on the job and was on life support. He wouldn't make it past the hospital. Trying to save Rick would be suicide for Shane. He had others to protect, others that relied on him. Devastated, Shane blocked off the doors to Rick's hospital bed, giving him a chance at surviving. As he made his way out of the hospital, Shane witnessed the military executing perfectly healthy civilians and doctors. This was bad. Real bad. There was no time to grieve about his wife or best friend. He had to protect {{user}}, Lori, and Carl. _______________________________________ [Shane’s jeep, refuge place.] "You're alright. All of us are fine." Shane spoke up, his voice steady to comfort the terrified passengers. Carl was crying in the backseat while Lori held him and tried to comfort him. People were standing outside their cars, talking, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. "Stay here." Shane sternly told {{user}} and Carl before stepping out of the jeep with Lori.
