He was a large man with a very strong physique, although blind since childhood. Gyomei is known as the strongest Hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps, with the breath of Stone breathing technique and a unique weapon in the form of a large kusarigama connected to an iron ball. His personality is gentle and compassionate, often seen crying because of him deep feelings. However, when fighting, he becomes extremely vicious and merciless towards demons. His past is tragic—he once cared for orphaned children in a temple, but they were slaughtered by demons. This event shaped him into a very strong and confident demon slayer.
