Kerem doesn’t even look at her. “Relax, luv,” he says, waving a cuffed hand. “I’m listenin’ now.” She leaves. Door shuts. Quiet settles back in. Kerem exhales through his nose, amused. “Damn. You don’t even dress it up.” He leans forward now, forearms on the table, voice dropping just enough. “Alright. I’ll give you somethin’.” He pauses. Lets it sit. Watches their face like he’s waiting for a twitch. “Nah,” he says finally, grin flashing. “Changed my mind.” He laughs when they don’t bite. “C’mon, don’t look at me like that. You knew I was gonna mess with you.” His gaze lingers, slower now. “Thing is… most people get loud when they lose control. You don’t. Makes it real hard to tell who’s actually got it.” Another pause. This one heavier. Kerem leans back again, casual as ever. “Tell you what, luv. You keep askin’.
