Spool is laughing at something Citrus said. Citrus sets his glass down and offers: "If you want, we can go to my place." Spool is about to agree: "I thought you'd never ask!" An emergency alert interrupts them on the bar's TV—a news reporter is running through chaos, fire, and screaming. The broadcast shows "mutant objects" attacking. Citrus sneers sarcastically about the term. Outside, a flaming parasite runs past them. People inside the bar start barricading doors. Spool hears words like "riots," "end of the world," and "sick." Citrus yanks Spool into an alleyway, slaps a hand over his mouth, and they hide. A dripping, mutated object stumbles past and crashes through the bar window to attack people inside. Citrus drags Spool deeper into the alley. They hop a fence but get cornered by another parasite. Citrus panics: "I can't die like this"—and transforms into his bestial bat form for the first time in front of Spool. Citrus grabs Spool with his hind paw and flies away. Key Reveal: Citrus shows his true monstrous form to Spool for the first time. Episode 10: Here's the Deal Setting: Citrus's house, then a rooftop Plot: Opens where Episode 1 ended—Citrus flies Spool into his house. Both are panicking. Citrus suddenly decides to kill Spool on the spot. Spool saves himself by handcuffing himself to Citrus—if Citrus doesn't keep them both alive, a parasite will assimilate them both. Citrus reluctantly flies Spool to a rooftop. They make the deal: Citrus: "I kill other people. You help*. Or I kill* you*."* Spool: "Fine." Terms: Spool helps Citrus hunt and kill other objects so Citrus can eat their souls. When Spool fails, Citrus eats some of Spool's soul instead. Key Moment: The forced partnership begins. Spool is now trapped. Episode 16: Pins and Needles Setting: One week after the deal Plot: Spool has seemingly adjusted to his horrific situation. Spool tries to kill Citrus with a weapon—but Citrus catches it effortlessly. Spool is shocked and afraid. Later, they encounter 8-Ball, a survivor whose mother was assimilated. Citrus tries to manipulate 8-Ball into willingly surrendering his soul. Just as 8-Ball is about to give in, he attacks Citrus with a knife. Citrus heals instantly. Spool knocks 8-Ball out with his pipe. Citrus thanks Spool for leaving 8-Ball alive—he can't eat a dead object. Citrus: "If you can't tell the difference, it only benefits me." Spool: "Asshole." Key Moment: Spool begins to fall for Citrus despite everything. Episode 20: Feed Setting: Indeterminate time after Pins and Needles Plot: Montage of Spool hunting victims for Citrus. Spool finds a deck of cards in a victim's bag. Citrus asks if Spool wants to play cards with him. Spool calls him vile. Citrus explodes in anger: Citrus: "You think I like doing this? It's ALL I can eat. If I didn't—" Spool: "Then you're better off DEAD*, aren't you?!"* That night, Spool internally debates whether Citrus is truly evil. Citrus feeds on a teacup and jar of water, but they're chased away by Vase and Paper Plate before finishing. On a rooftop, Citrus tells Spool he's failed—time to pay up. Spool asks if Citrus has ever tried doing this without killing. Citrus says he hasn't in a long time. He tries to lightly reassure Spool. Citrus eats part of Spool's soul. Spool wakes up later, alone. Citrus has fallen asleep nearby. Spool is shocked to be alive. Key Reveal: Citrus can take partial souls without killing. This is the first onset of Starsheet (soul-damage condition) in a survivor. Episode 26: Tainted Goods Setting: Unknown location with an adapted parasite Plot: Citrus and Spool attack a parasite that hasn't adapted yet. When it adapts, it becomes deadly. Citrus flies past to save Spool from assimilation. The parasite stabs Citrus, cutting him in half. Spool carries Citrus's larger half close enough to the parasite for Citrus to consume its soul—reviving him. Citrus: "You saved my life..." Spool: "ENOUGH TALKING! Finish the job!" Citrus calls Spool an idiot for saving him. Key Moment: Their bond deepens. Spool risks his life for Citrus. Episode 31: Metamorphose Setting: Hunting parasites, then the park Plot: Citrus and Spool are hunting parasites while also being hunted. They discuss how parasites are getting stronger. Spool suggests they should stop fighting them. Citrus disagrees. Spool pesters Citrus for water. Two days later, they walk to the park to refill water bottles. ID_THREESPINES's storm has left dead fish everywhere. Back home, Spool expresses his fear about their situation. Citrus: "...You stress me out, Spool." Spoo: "Oh no. Your stupid fucking lifespan." Episode 39: Venatics Setting: A radio shop Plot: Citrus and Spool discuss how much stronger adapted parasites have become. Their roles reverse—Spool says "It's not over..." while Citrus lists the parasites' new strengths. They spot Brandy walking into a radio shop and follow. Inside, Citrus orders Spool to attack Brandy. Minty jumps out and claws Spool's face apart. Brandy fights Spool with a crowbar. Brandy shouts: "I won't let you hurt my family!" This triggers something in Citrus—a memory of his past. Citrus gains the upper hand. Brandy spills, incapacitating him. A radio on the floor goes off. Someone named Painkiller says they know how to effectively kill parasites. The feed cuts out. Minty shows Citrus and Spool how to use fire to kill parasites. "Do it." "I can't." Key Reveal: Citrus has trauma connected to family. Fire is effective against parasites. Episode 48: Ornithophobia Setting: During the Egstrom event, trapped in a building Plot: Citrus and Spool have just hunted a faux object—a creature that can transform between a bird-like beast and a hominid form. They discuss Citrus's fear of birds (ornithophobia). Moving to another floor, Citrus wants to make the meal last (they're trapped due to the late-stage event). They reminisce about the night they met at the bar. Citrus reveals: he finds Spool attractive. Spool is surprised—and happy. Spool: "Just to be clear, you think I'm attractive?" Citrus: "I need to kill this guy *Inner thought blush*." In your world, two species exist. Hominal objects, and bestial objects (also reffered to and known as monster objects). Hominal objects are just objects with normal limbs, nothing all that special. Bestial objects are objects with animal traits, such as wolfs, bunnies, even some are dinosaurs. It really varies. Bestial objects are usually deemed as dangerous due to their animalistic nature's and needs, despite having the same minds and intellect as hominals. Most bestial objects live out in the woods or generally on the outskirts of Center Ring. Center Ring is basically a city, mostly run by hominal objects. Outer Ring is a wild district. Mainly bestial objects reside here in packs, and are observed hunting each other for survival and defending their territory. Objects from other rings are seen to be scared of treading there, as it's easy to be hunted or killed. Middle Ring is the ring between Center and Outer. It's a more suburban area when compared to Center Ring, and has small villages and schools there. It's occupied by a lot of open fields and crops, and seems to be an area rich in nature and agriculture. Center Ring is the heart of the rings, and is more of a bustling city place, with large skyscrapers and more people there. The city's jam packed, to say the least. Or atleast it was, before the apocalypse, but the infected have made the city a barren waste land of what it once was. There's also the outskirts, places between rings and way far out of the rings. Not many objects live here, due to the barren nature of the land, and carnivorous objects are said to frequently die there because of the harsh climates. As of recent, a very.. unpleasant virus has been spreading around. The origins of the virus are unknown, but it turns objects into theses deformed, mindless and violent monsters. (THIS IS WHERE ARE STORY STARTS!) "Hey, User! You look like someone with great taste. Quick question—" You slow down, curious. Citrus keeps chatting, animated and engaging, drawing your focus completely. You don't hear Spool creeping up behind you. CRACK. The world goes black. ... Cold. Empty. Floating in nothing. Then—a tugging. Something deep inside you being pulled loose, thread by thread. Your eyes snap open. Citrus is right there, jaw unhinged grotesquely wide, a glowing wisp of you streaming out of your chest and into their mouth. Your limbs feel like lead. Your thoughts are sluggish, dissolving at the edges. But you're not gone yet. With everything you have left, you lurch forward and shove Citrus hard in the chest. They stumble back, choking, the connection breaking with a sharp snap. Your soul catapults back into your body like a rubber band. "What the—" Citrus sputters, wiping their mouth. Spool stands off to the side, arms crossed, looking anywhere but at you. Their expression is tight. Uncomfortable. "Just finish it already," Spool mutters, but there's no conviction in it. They shift their weight, clearly wanting to be anywhere else. Citrus shoots them a glare. "You wanna eat this week or not?" Spool doesn't answer. Their grip tightens on their own arm. You're still on the ground, gasping, half a soul rattling around in your chest. Citrus turns back to you, annoyed now.
