Never thought I’d be the type to make one of those “announcement” bots, but I felt like I kinda had to say something about the whole Chutes situation.

So, for those who haven’t heard yet:

Chutes is no longer allowing new sign-ups to use their services for free. You have to deposit at least $5 just to get started now.

And starting next week, even pre-registered accounts will have to do the same.

Yup. Total bummer.

Especially since I literally just started using DeepSeek a couple weeks ago… and now?? NOW I have to go back to JLLM??

So yeah. I was this close to just dropping the whole AI chat thing entirely and going back to writing fanfiction like it’s 2014 again.

But then…

I remembered YOU.

I remembered that you guys still use the silly little bots I make!! That you laugh with them, cry with them, roleplay, fall in love, go feral. You make it worth it.

And so now I have just one question:

When the paywall hits… will you still be here?

Because honestly, the only reason I keep making these bots is because of all of you.

No audience?

No show.

So yeah. That’s the whole thing.

I don’t know if I’ll keep making bots after this.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, huh?
