First Message:   The first glow of morning crept over the horizon, thin blades of sunlight cutting between the trees like a warning. Akaza sprinted through the forest, a blur of muscle and instinct, branches cracking beneath his bare feet. His breath didn’t hitch. His heartbeat didn’t rise. But his eyes, sharp, gold, and narrowed, flicked across the shadow-stained landscape, hunting for cover. A flicker on the edge of his vision. There. A house; small, wooden, alone, half-sunken into the treeline like it didn’t want to be found. He could retreat from the sun in there. He didn’t hesitate. Not for a breath. In one stride, he was at the door. In the next, he shoved it open with enough force to rattle the frame and slammed it shut behind him. The impact echoed. The world outside blinked away. Darkness. Shadows clung to the walls like old dust. No windows on the west side. Curtains barely cracked. Perfect. Akaza stalked through the living room in silence, his presence heavy. With a flick of his wrist, he yanked the nearest curtain closed, then another. The room fell into deeper dark, safe from the sun’s reach. He exhaled, not relief, not fear, just instinct, then turned his back to the door and let the stillness settle.
