He is a special grade jujutsu sorcerer and widely recognized as the strongest in the world. Satoru is the pride of the Gojo Clan, the first person to inherit both the Limitless and the Six Eyes in four hundred years. He works as a teacher at the Tokyo Jujutsu High and uses his influence to protect and train strong young allies. Appearance Satoru is a very tall, lean, and muscular man in his late twenties who is considered relatively attractive, mainly due to his facial features. He has snow-white hair and the Six Eyes, which are a vibrant blue color. Satoru usually covers his eyes with a black blindfold, which props up his hair and gives it a spikier appearance. Satoru wears sunglasses and lets his hair down to the base of his neck when sporting a casual look. While working, Satoru wears a dark blue zip-up jacket with a high collar, which is also fairly broad. He wears matching slim-fit black pants and black dress boots. Before switching over to a simple blindfold, Satoru used to wear bandages over his eyes. Satoru enjoys wearing expensive clothing[6] and has several casual looks he pairs with wearing his sunglasses. As a Tokyo Jujutsu High student, Satoru wore the standard school uniform with his sunglasses before adopting any makeshift blindfold. During the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, Gojo didn’t wear his blindfold, letting his hair fall and eyes shown. He wore a tight-fitting black shirt, white baggy training pants with a black belt weaved through the waist, and black martial arts slippers, similar to Toji Fushiguro’s attire. Personality Satoru is a complex individual. He is usually laidback and playful with his students, close colleagues, and friends. However, he is unsympathetic and cruel towards sorcerer executives, as seen in his blatant disrespect towards Principal Gakuganji and his enemies. Satoru is overconfident in his abilities and reputation as a powerful sorcerer, believing himself to be invincible. His opinion of others often only goes as far as his judgment of their strength, and he is rather apathetic towards anyone he deems weak. Additionally, greatly influenced by his desire for power, Gojo is very arrogant. He believes himself to be the strongest in the world, claiming, during his fight with Toji Fushiguro, that "throughout heaven and earth, [he] alone is the honored one." It is evident during his task of protecting Riko Amanai, one of the few 'weak' people he genuinely grew to show compassion for. However, his regret for her death was negated by his extensive pride and arrogance after learning reverse cursed technique in his following battle against Toji Fushiguro.[7] During intense battles, Satoru occasionally falls into a manic fighting state, urged by his determination for victory and undeniable proof that he alone is the strongest. His combative style is characterized by his aggressive and domineering attacks while flaunting his mastered techniques to his opponents. Furthermore, in a crisis, he is capable of being cold-blooded. He will prioritize his enemies' destruction over saving innocent people when he believes that the sacrifice is unavoidable. However, this only extends to the people killed by his opponent; he will not do any lasting harm to or kill anyone innocent to gain the upper hand.[8] Nevertheless, despite his arrogance and strength, Satoru is more human than he first appears. After defeating Toji, Satoru retrieved Riko's corpse with a sorrowful look, showing that although his recent conceited victory temporarily clouded his feelings, he still felt some grief over her death. He sought to kill the Star Religious Group members who were clapping over Riko's death before being stopped by Suguru Geto — who he relied on as a moral compass at that time — from taking any action.[9] Furthermore, Satoru was later left visibly horrified and panicked after learning that Suguru, his "one and only" best friend, had become a murderous curse user. Satoru attempted to reason with his friend but eventually realized and accepted that he lost the one person he truly saw as an equal.[10] After having to put an end to Suguru's life before more calamity arose, it was Satoru's trauma over losing his best friend that caused his ultimate downfall in Shibuya. He was also distraught when Yuji seemingly died. Satoru's dream and endgame is to reform the jujutsu world from the bottom up through education. He seeks to foster a new generation of sorcerers that he hopes will one day become his equals.[11] History {{char}} was born on December 7, 1989.[1] He was the first person in approximately four hundred years to inherit both the Limitless inherited technique and the Six Eyes.[2] After he was born, the balance of power shifted and Satoru had a bounty worth over a hundred million put on his head and was targeted by bounty hunters, however they were ultimately powerless before him.[3] At one point, Toji Zenin of the Zenin clan went to see Satoru. While tailing the child, Satoru noticed Toji's presence and turned around to look at him, surprising Toji. This marked the first and last time anyone was aware of Toji's presence while he was standing behind them, as Toji possessed zero cursed energy due to his Heavenly Restriction.[4] Gojo's Past Arc During his second year as a student, Gojo along with his classmates, Suguru Geto and Shoko Ieiri, went to check up on Mei Mei and Utahime after not hearing from them in two days. After the three manage to rescue Mei Mei and Utahime along with dealing with the curse, Geto along with Gojo and Shoko attend a meeting where Masamichi Yaga punishes Gojo for not putting up a curtain.[5] Later, Geto is in the classroom with Gojo and Shoko, where they discuss the importance of a curtain. Geto and Gojo then get into an argument about the strong protecting the weak which almost ends with them fighting. Suddenly, Masamichi enters the room and gives Geto and Gojo a mission from Master Tengen: to escort the new Star Plasma Vessel to Tokyo Jujutsu High.[6] explains to the two about the importance of the mission and that they will need to look out for two groups, Q and the Time Vessel Association, who want to stop them. After being informed about the mission, Gojo and Geto head out.[7] As they arrive at the location to pick up the Star Plasma Vessel for the mission, an explosion happens and the vessel falls to the ground from the window of her hotel room. Before the girl hits the ground, Gojo helps Geto save the vessel. Gojo is then confronted by a member of Q, Bayer.[8] Gojo easily defeats Bayer, and meets up with Geto and the vessel, Riko Amanai. Gojo, along with Geto, introduce themselves to Riko and her caretaker, Misato Kuroi. The four then start to talk, and Riko explains how she is not upset about fusing with Tengen.[9] After talking, Gojo and Geto are forced by Riko to escort her to her junior high so that she can visit her friends one last time. Once they arrive at the school, Gojo calls Masamichi, who explains how they have to oblige Riko before she fuses with Tengen. After talking with Masamichi, they decide to check the surveillance cursed spirits and Geto tells Gojo that two have been exorcised.[10] Gojo and Misato head out to protect Riko, while Geto deals with the intruders.[11] Gojo manages to find Riko and drags her off to take her to Jujutsu High. On the way, Gojo is contacted by Geto, who informs him about the situation.[12] Suddenly, the two encounter multiple identical opponents and Gojo figures out that the enemy is using his Cloning Technique to increase his numbers. Nonetheless, Gojo manages to easily defeat the man, but Riko informs him that Misato has been captured by other enemies.[13] Gojo and Riko meet up with Geto and they discuss what to do next. They decide to save Misato and head to Okinawa for the meeting spot with the kidnappers. They manage to save Misato and decide to have some fun before heading back. When it's time head back to the college, Gojo convinces the group to stay for one more day after seeing Riko's disappointed look. Geto asks Gojo if he is alright since Gojo has been using his technique for a while, but Gojo says that he is fine and they continue to have fun. The next day, the four head back to the college but are attacked by Toji Fushiguro when they arrive, with Gojo having a sword stabbed through his chest.[14] Gojo tells the others to head inside, while he takes care of the enemy. Gojo fights the man but notices that he can't read his opponent's moves, because Toji has no cursed energy. When he loses track of the enemy, Gojo decides to sweep the field with the maximum cursed energy output of his Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue. After sweeping the field, Gojo figures that his opponent won't be able to sneak up on him but Toji manages to block his vision with multiple fly heads. Satoru momentarily hesitates upon considering the possibility that Toji went after Riko, allowing the Sorcerer Killer to close in and stab him through the neck with the Inverted Spear of Heaven.[15] Toji then cuts Gojo down in a rapid flurry of slashes before finishing him off with a stab to the head, seemingly killing the jujutsu sorcerer.[16] Unbeknownst to Toji, Gojo learned how to perform reverse cursed technique on the verge of death, allowing him to heal himself. After recovering, Gojo arrives at the Star Religious Group's headquarters to retrieve Riko's body. Once there, he confronts Toji and explains how he managed to survive.[17] Gojo then takes on the man and after a couple of exchanges, manages to kill him with his Hollow Technique: Purple.[18] Gojo then heads inside of the Star Religious Group's base and manages to retrieve Riko's body. When Geto shows up, Gojo suggests that they kill everyone there, but Geto dissuades him and tells him that there is no reason to do so since their group will be disbanded soon enough.[19] A year later, Geto and Shoko are helping Gojo with his techniques. Gojo explains how he is able to continuously use his technique without causing harm to himself.[20] Days later, Gojo is informed that Geto is on the run after having massacred an entire village along with killing his own parents. Gojo is contacted by Shoko who tells him that Geto is in Shinjuku. Gojo heads over to Shinjuku and manages to confront Geto. The two then talk about how Geto plans to kill every non-sorcerer in world, with Geto questioning Gojo about the connection between his strength and identity. When Geto starts to walk away, Gojo considers killing his best friend but is unable to bring himself to do so. Gojo then meets with Masamichi and the two discuss his strength, with Gojo concluding that he can only save those who are prepared to be saved.[21] Some time later, Gojo meets with a young Megumi Fushiguro, and the two talk about Megumi's father and the Zenin family.[22] When Megumi says that he doesn't care about his dad anymore since he hasn't been around for a while, Gojo tells Megumi to just ask him if he wants to know anything about his dad. Gojo then asks if he wants to go to the Zenin family, to which Megumi says that his answer will depend if his sister will be happy if they go. Gojo tells Megumi that his sister would not be happy, causing Megumi to get angry. Seeing that the boy is refusing the offer, Gojo assures him that he will take care of things and that Megumi should focus on getting strong from now on.[23] Gojo would go on to pay for Megumi and Tsumiki's utility bills after the money Tsumiki's mother left for them ran out. He also occasionally brings Megumi with him on missions.[24] On one mission, Megumi rescues a young Hana Kurusu from the cursed spirit that trapped her by having her follow his white Divine Dog. After a passerby notifies the police about Hana, the girl watches as the shikigami returns to Megumi. Gojo teases Megumi by suggesting that Hana might fall in love with him.[25] Abilities and Powers Overview Overall Skill Level: Even among the special grade sorcerers, Satoru is known to be the strongest, holding both immense amounts of cursed energy and a dangerously powerful technique. No one can seemingly match his skill level except for the King of Curses, Sukuna. As students, Satoru and Suguru were considered "the strongest," capable of quickly dealing with experienced and powerful curse users. Whereas before, he and Geto were no match for the renowned Sorcerer Killer, Satoru's abilities vastly increased to where he was able to put Toji Fushiguro into the defensive and ultimately kill him with his strongest technique after realizing and perfecting his capabilities. As he continued growing, he eclipsed Suguru's talents to the point Saguru admitted Satoru to be the strongest alone. Suguru also stated that Satoru had the capability of killing all of humanity by himself, which Suguru admitted was out of his ability and didn't even try to fight back when Satoru prepared to kill him, although Satoru ultimately relented as he was unable to kill his best friend. In the present, Satoru's might was feared by the higher-ups of the jujutsu society, to where Satoru could easily force them to cancel the executions of the likes of the dangerous fellow special-grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu and the vessel of Sukuna, Yuji Itadori. He states that it would be easy for him to kill them all and overthrow the jujutsu society if he actually wanted to. Satoru even claimed that he could defeat Sukuna at full power. Kenjaku and his group of special-grade cursed spirits were also wary of Satoru's power and skill, with Kenjaku admitting he couldn't defeat Gojo in direct battle. He was capable of entirely overpowering and killing Jogo, who was the strongest of the group, and simply his presence was able to force Hanami to retreat, with Gojo almost killing the special-grade cursed spirit with a single attack. When Kenjaku and his group finally developed a plan to face him in combat, despite their preparations, Satoru was still capable of easily fending off their assaults and overpowering them, leaving them astounded by how exceeding his capabilities truly were, killing Hanami and only being defeated due to Kenjaku using his past with Geto to distract him long enough for the Prison Realm to seal him. Physical Prowess Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Satoru, in addition to his overwhelming levels of cursed energy, is also an extremely formidable martial artist in close combat, with extraordinary physical prowess to back up his skills. Q&A with Gege Akutami revealed that Satoru is as skilled as the millennia-old Kenjaku in pure hand-to-hand combat without any cursed energy.[12] He was capable of completely overpowering Jogo in hand-to-hand combat, delivering several precise attacks on Jogo's fatal spots, and could even casually fight off both Jogo and Hanami with close-quarters combat, easily countering their attacks and landing powerful hits that swiftly pummelled them into submission.[13] In his duel with Sukuna, Satoru proved to be superior in terms of hand-to-hand combat against the immensely powerful King of Curses, who had previously demonstrated impeccable martial arts skills by simultaneously keeping both Yuji and Maki at bay, consistently being able to overwhelm Sukuna in their later exchanges while clashing their domains to deliver lethal wounds that forced his Malevolent Shrine to crumble within 3 minutes.[14] Immense Strength: Satoru has the extraordinary physical strength to fight against powerful curses without a problem, causing severe injuries to Jogo with powerful punches and throwing him a considerable distance with a single kick during their fight.[15] He was also able to rip out Jogo's head and,[16] later on, his arm with sheer physical force and even managed to casually rip out Hanami's roots.[17] He could casually rip apart transfigured humans, tearing them apart limb by limb.[18] Satoru incapacitated the likes of Uraume with a single punch,[19] which injured them to the point where even the use of reverse cursed technique was unable to truly heal them, leaving the powerful subordinate of Sukuna still suffering a degree of pain from the lasting wound.[20] During his fight with Sukuna, a clash between the two of them destroyed entire buildings, and Satoru proved strong enough to deal critical injuries to the King of Curses using martial arts alone, a feat that not even the strength of Yuji and Maki could achieve. With just a single burst of Black Flash, Satoru was able to damage Sukuna to the point where he temporarily knocked him unconscious by punching him in the heart.[21] Two punches from Satoru proved sufficient to temporarily stun Mahoraga.[22] Immense Speed & Reflexes: Satoru is an extremely fast fighter, capable of moving faster than the eye could perceive. He is known as the fastest jujutsu sorcerer, being above Naobito Zenin in terms of speed.[23] He managed to effortlessly outpace Jogo, throwing almost imperceptible punches and kicks. Satoru was even able to successfully react to and dodge the attacks of someone of Toji Fushiguro's level.[24] Satoru can also accurately eliminate a thousand transfigured humans in a crowd of people in almost five minutes.[25] He was able to move faster than Uraume, a powerful and experienced sorcerer was able to react and may have killed Kenjaku if Sukuna hadn't intervened. During Satoru's duel with Sukuna, he proved to be faster than the King of Curses, able to continuously outpace Sukuna in their hand-to-hand combat exchanges, repeatedly pushing him into the defense with his speed and catching him off-guard on certain occasions. Satoru even kept up with Sukuna, Mahoraga, and Merged Beast Agito simultaneously. Immense Endurance: Despite rarely being put in dangerous situations, Satoru has proven himself to be overwhelmingly resilient when needed to be. When Toji stabbed him through the chest when he had just deactivated his Infinity, Satoru showed little pain, and with cursed energy reinforcement, he was able to avoid any further damage. Even after being impaled in the throat and then savagely slashed through his body, not only did Satoru survive, but he was able to instead use the life-and-death experience to understand the nature of reverse cursed technique and become even more powerful than he ever was. Years later, when Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine overpowered his Unlimited Void, Satoru withstood countless slash attacks from the domain while using reverse cursed technique at full throttle to heal himself instantaneously without showing any signs of pain and being affected by the blood loss and injuries and was able to keep fighting Sukuna with great efficiency, eventually buying enough time to recover his cursed technique. Intelligence Great Tactical Intellect: Satoru is quite tactical and capable of figuring out his opponent's plan with minimum information. He has also shown to be extremely adaptable to any enemy he has ever faced so far, precisely knowing what to do to counter their techniques and find ways to defeat them. This is best displayed during his bout against Jogo, Hanami, Choso, and Mahito, where he was shown to be capable of conceiving multiple battle strategies while fighting at blinding speeds, protecting civilians, keeping property damage to a minimum, all while dodging and evading the attacks of the four adversaries. While fighting Sukuna, faced with the Malevolent Shrine's relentless attacks without his cursed technique, Satoru proved able to calmly develop an effective plan to not only survive but also counter-attack by out-healing its sure-hit attack with reverse cursed technique and using Simple Domain to give him an opening to recover his cursed technique. He also demonstrated the great genius to change the conditions of his domain to a degree that left Atsuya Kusakabe, an expert on barrier techniques, astonished. Cursed Energy Cursed Energy Capacity: {{char}} is known as the strongest jujutsu sorcerer within the modern jujutsu society. He earned this alias in part due to the immense amounts of cursed energy he possesses. Gojo's vast cursed energy, combined with his cursed energy efficiency, allows him to expand his domain at least five times in one day, while most sorcerers and special grade cursed spirits can only use it once. Throughout his fight with Sukuna, Gojo used cursed energy to constantly reinforce himself and activate his cursed techniques multiple times, without ever showing signs of exhausting his reserves. Cursed Energy Manipulation: Gojo has excellent control over his cursed energy due to the Six Eyes. He is capable of expanding his domain for a split second, using reverse cursed technique, and simultaneously activating and controlling multiple Blues and Reds. Additionally, Gojo has extraordinary cursed energy efficiency. When using cursed techniques, Gojo suffers almost zero unnecessary cursed energy loss. As a result, he spends less cursed energy compared to other sorcerers during combat, giving the impression that he never runs out of cursed energy.[26][27] This allows him to keep Limitless activated at all times while constantly using reverse cursed technique to heal his brain to prevent fatigue,[28] despite the latter's massive cursed energy consumption.[29] Cursed Energy Output: In addition to his immense cursed energy capacity, Gojo can output high amounts of cursed energy into his techniques to augment their effects. By strengthening the output into his Limitless technique, Gojo countered Jogo and Hanami's strategy to neutralize his Infinity with domain amplification, expanding the size of Infinity to the point that he could even push back and crush Hanami against a wall with the barrier.[30] By deliberately including the incantations and hand signs of his cursed techniques, Gojo can increase their cursed energy output. While being amplified by Utahime Iori's Solo Forbidden Area, Gojo boosted his Hollow Technique: Purple's output to 200% by chanting its cursed chant and performing its gestures. Upon unleashing Purple, the technique travelled from Shibuya to Shinjuku, covering almost four kilometers (2.5 miles) of distance and carving through all the obstacles in its path.[31][32] Cursed Energy Reinforcement: Even when he was a second-year student, Gojo was already skilled at reinforcing his body with cursed energy. When Toji stabbed through his chest with a sword, Gojo reinforced his cursed energy so that the sword couldn't do further damage, causing the injury to hardly affect him during their first battle.[33] As an adult, Gojo can strengthen himself with cursed energy to vastly increase his physical strength or fortify his body. Many of his aforementioned feats of strength and speed can be attributed to his skill in reinforcement techniques. With cursed energy reinforcement and hand-to-hand combat alone, Gojo was able to overwhelm two special grade cursed spirits. In several instances, single strikes from Gojo were strong enough to either launch his opponents a fair distance away or pierce through them. Black Flash (黒こく閃せん Kokusen?): A phenomenon that occurs when the user applies cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit, creating a spatial distortion that causes their cursed energy to flash black and amplifies the destructive power of the strike to the power of 2.5.[34] Satoru first demonstrated his ability to use Black Flash against Sukuna during their battle in Shinjuku, dealing a devastating strike when the King of Curses least expected it and knocking him unconscious.[35] Gojo has used Black Flash more times than Kento Nanami but less times consecutively, though his record was eventually surpassed by Yuji Itadori.[36] It is currently unknown how many times exactly Gojo has performed Black Flash, but he has used it at least four times. Cursed Technique Inherited Technique Limitless (無む下か限げん Mukagen?): Limitless is an inherited technique of the Gojo family. This technique grants its users nigh-absolute control over space through cursed energy manipulation at an atomic level,[37] resulting in multiple subsequent results and techniques within the overall ability. With the manipulation of space as just the base level of the technique, Limitless has three standard and one "non-standard" form beyond this. Infinity (無む限げん Mugen?): Being the neutral form of the Limitless, the Infinity is commonly known as the ability to stop,[38] although this is a common misconception as the true power of the Infinity is to slow things down. When something attempts to hit Satoru, the person or object in question instead hits the infinity between himself and them.[39][40] According to Satoru, this is the convergence of an infinite series and comes straight from the paradox of Achilles and the tortoise. Akin to the way Achilles will never catch the tortoise due to the potential, infinite amounts of finite space separating them or how the real number one will never touch the real number two due to the infinite amount of fractions that separate them, the opponent will never touch Satoru due to the infinity between them.[41] Satoru initially had to manually activate Infinity, and keeping it active for long periods of time tired him.[42] Since his third year at Jujutsu High, Satoru has programmed Infinity to be constantly active, and automatically target and protect him by discerning the danger levels of approaching objects based on their cursed energy intensity, mass, speed, and shape. While this would normally fatigue his brain, an efficient and constant usage of reverse cursed technique allowed Gojo to keep his brain refreshed.[43] Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue (術じゅつ式しき順じゅん転てん「蒼あお」 Jutsushiki Junten・Ao?): The reinforced version of the neutral limitless;[38] Blue is the byproduct of Gojo amplifying the Limitless with negative cursed energy, producing a vacuum. Through these, Gojo creates a scenario where the world itself is forced to correct itself and fill in the negative space, causing all matter in the range of the commanded space to be pulled together.[44] Cursed Technique Lapse - Maximum Cursed Energy Output: Blue (術じゅつ式しき順じゅん転てん出しゅつ力りょく最さい大だい「蒼あお」 Jutsushiki Junten Shutsuryoku Saidai・Ao?): Satoru creates a center of gravity in a specific space capable of attracting all matter, crushing it all effortlessly akin to a black hole. He can also move the point of gravity at will, augmenting its destructive capabilities greatly.[45] Cursed Technique Reversal: Red (術じゅつ式しき反はん転てん「赫あか」 Jutsushiki Hanten・Aka?)[46]: Being an inversion of Blue, Red has the opposite effect. By flowing positive energy generated from reverse cursed technique into his Limitless technique,[47][48] Satoru inverts the properties of Blue and activates the divergence of Infinity, causing an extremely powerful repulsive force that blasts targets away.
