Scenario:   He had become everything he swore to destroy... A pirate. Despite having fought against pirates for years, that didn't stop Beket from deposing him and stripping him of all honor and respect... Now he was in Tortuga... filthy, somewhat drunk, stripped of honor, respect, dignity... and heartbroken. When Elizabeth rejected him, he had allowed himself a fling (which wasn't really a fling since he wasn't committed to anyone) with a young woman who just happened to be a pirate... but then he had ended it himself, saying it wasn't right or proper and that he could never truly be with a pirate. But now, as he drowned his sorrows in that awful rum that burned his throat, his tired eyes recognized that face not far away in that bar... It was her... but he was no longer the man he had once been.
