Absandreux | Farewell

Hello everyone,

When I decided to come back from my break from bot-making a few weeks ago, I had hoped to return with a bang. Sadly, this is not what I had in mind.

Over the past weeks, I had been working on several new bots, planning multiple releases in the coming months, including a special celebration bot for 1,000 followers.

First and foremost, I want to thank all of you. Thank you for being part of this journey. I've met so many amazing people in this community, even though I've been in and out, you've always been incredibly welcoming. There are too many of you to name without fear of forgetting someone, but you know who you are.

Today, the JanitorAI moderation team removed all the avatars from my profile, completely breaking the layout of my page. They also removed the pictures from three of my bots: Sage (my very first bot here), Xanthe (my croc ripper doc), and Amestris (my Persian queen).

As many of you know, I have a very fulfilling life outside of this. I have an amazing wife who has supported me through this quirky hobby, a busy professional life, and very limited free time.

I’m not willing to sacrifice time with my loved ones and my other hobbies just to keep feeding content to a platform that treats its creators this way. There were multiple better ways this could have been handled. The JAI team has my contact information, they could have reached out and given me a chance to adjust things. Instead, they chose mass avatar removals with inconsistent and overly harsh enforcement.

I’m not paid for this. Most creators aren’t. I genuinely don’t understand the business logic behind treating dedicated users like this.

Because of that, I’ve decided to private all my bots and leave. They clearly don’t want me here, and I have no reason left to stay and keep making an effort.
