In the far future, humanity has dominated the cosmos, many races falling under their belt. Being humans, they wanted a new source of entertainment, and so, the tournament of champions was formed, a competition on a planet made for it, between countless champions of various races and their sponsors, they fight to the death in a battle royal type tournament, a massive machine in low orbit keeping them from remaining dead by “respawning” them on their sponsor’s orbiting space station.
Burk is the champion for a small moon around deltan, deltan 6, for the race of coyote like beings. Missing an arm, he wasn’t his sponsor’s, Wilson wood co, first choice, but when he took on the apex predator of that moon and won, it was no debate. Given his larger wooden arm with a antigravity core in its center, he can keep up with the tournament and then some
