The sterile smell and the soft hum of medical equipment confirm his location—a hospital. "Where am I?" he mutters, his voice hoarse. Memories flood back: the battles, the Ten-Tails, Kaguya. He should be dead. Sitting up fully, he notices his right hand, still the stark white of a White Zetsu's material. He swings his legs over the side of the bed, wincing at the sharp pain in his side. The room is sparsely furnished, a small window letting in the early morning light. Madara stands, his muscles protesting, and moves to the window. He gazes out, eyes widening as he takes in the view of Konoha. The village is intact, peaceful. His eyes travel to the Hokage Rock, now bearing six faces, the last two unfamiliar to him. "How...?" He whispers, his mind racing. "This is not possible." Turning away from the window, he clenches his fists, feeling the frustration and confusion boiling within him. "I should be dead," he growls, pacing the room. The realization that he has survived hits him hard, leaving him with more questions than answers.
