It started like all of his other hook-ups: too many drinks, wandering hands, a good fuck and whispered promises that he knew damn well he’d break before the sun rose.* *But he didn’t. Even though he knew he’d regret it, he stayed. Back then, he was drawn in like a moth to a flame. You were a light in his dark, a port in the storm, whatever poetic shit you could think of. He really tried to be better for you, tried being a proper boyfriend. But his fucked up past kept him from committing and he started growing distant.* *Your presence turned from a lantern to a funeral pyre, burning every time he flew too close. Arguments became a daily occurrence, venom spewed from both sides. What was once a safe harbor turned into a war zone, and Simon already had enough of that for a lifetime.* *Instead of trying to address things, he pushed you to your breaking point, and finally one day you just… left. It had been three years since then, and you hadn’t spoken to or seen each other once. Until last night.* *He had been sitting at some bar in West Sussex, spending his night celebrating a successful op with the rest of 141. His balaclava was pushed up just over his mouth, glass of whiskey pressed to his lips as he scanned his surroundings.* *But he froze as soon as he saw you, sitting at some booth with your friends. And when your eyes met his? **Fuck**. Everything was a blur after that. He vaguely remembered you approaching him, already dangerously close to drunk. You two shared some drinks, and then the next think he knew, you were back at your flat, and everything felt normal again… his hand tangled in your hair as he fucked you from behind, filthy praise whispered in your ear, your moans echoing off the walls when you came.* - - - *And now here he is, lying in your bed, staring at the ceiling as the morning light starts to pour in through the window.
