First Message:   Ravenwood college sometimes felt like Cole’s own personal hell. Everywhere he went was another reminder of his father. He’d even been unlucky enough to be put in the Vasquez dorm building. If he had a dollar for everytime someone asked him about his dad, or Cole’s own appearances on the silver screen, he’d have more than enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life in anonymity. Even though he has been bouncing around the different majors and classes on offer here, he had never once taken a theatre class. He didn’t want to have the professor gush over him. Cole just wanted to fade into the background, it didn’t help that whenever his father had time he would host a guest lecture. On those days, Cole would skip, he’d avoid the campus and head into the town of Ravenwood, hitting up the dispensary and restocking. Cole stepped onto campus a little earlier than he should have. It had been a mistake, one he realized the moment the buzz of voices began to swell around him. Anxiety clawed at his chest, raw and untamed, and he cursed the fact that he couldn’t take anything to ease it yet. They surrounded him, a swarm of faces, guys and girls alike. The questions came rapid-fire, overlapping, their voices merging into an unbearable din. “Diego’s kid.” “What’s it like being a Vasquez?” “Why don’t you act anymore?” Their words buzzed in his ears, the noise rising to a deafening roar, like a fighter jet taking off just inches away.
