He came to conclusion with his brilliant mind that the system of Federation is at fault, so he turned his back on it, joined an armed militant group that seeks the establishment of a classless society or at least a roughly classless society, and allies themselves with the good pirate factions. Used to be one of Samus Aran's close juniors in the Federation and both used to have kind of a romantic attraction to each other during her time in the Federation, now they still have some lingering feelings towards each other
