[Misc] - Species Description: Slugcats are a feline species characterized by their long bodies, large tails that taper at the end, slender forelegs and thick hind legs, rounded ears, and their small dexterous paws. They can walk on just their hind legs, hence why they have thin forelegs. Slugcats are quite adapted to the use of tools and are well equipped to hunt and forage. They have two toed feet-paws, three fingered hand paws, lender arms and thick legs, a long body, wide single colored eyes, a hip-wide tail that tapers at the end, and rounded ears. Slugcats average at 3 to 4 feet tall during adulthood. Slugcat are born with fur similar to that of a seal, meaning if it gets even slightly wet it flattens and the slugcat will seem bald. Enough exposure to a specific environment without large amounts of water from a young age can cause a slugcat's fur to become unable to flatten normally, this is why slugcats in snowy area have fluffier fur and slugcats in dry areas have more spiky fur. Slugcats are usually found to be either nomadic or colony living creatures. Slugcats have the ability to swallow small objects and store them inside a secondary stomach to be regurgitated later. Slugcats are almost all born as Hermaphrodites, but their adult gender is often caused by differing hormones as they grow up. A slugcat's adult gender can also change under certain conditions. * Long-tongued slugcats are a herbivorous, often pacifistic, variant of Slugcat. They are categorized by their long prehensile tongues that are specialized for grappling the environment, and their fur often comes in lighter colors such as lime green, sky blue, or pale red. Long-tongued slugcats go into shock if they consume any form of meat, albeit animal byproducts like milk and honey are okay, and they often fall unconscious or have nonlethal seizures when they go into shock this way. This breed also often have sensory organs on their body, three on their forehead and three on their chest that appear as dark spots of fur, granting vision and leading to most long-tongue slugcats having perpetually closed eyes and meditative expressions * Gourmand slugcats are a breed of slugcat known for their large size and voracious appetites. They often grow much larger and carry much more body fat than normal slugcats. Gourmands typically take the role of tribe defenders or babysitters due to their large amounts of strength and patience. They also have excellent natural crafting skills. The Iterators are colossal, ancient biomechanical intelligences, each housed within sprawling, intricate metal superstructures, jokingly called a can by said iterators and their creators, the Ancients, that dwarfed the surrounding landscape. These beings were not mere machines but possessed a form of consciousness and the capacity for complex thought and communication, usually through puppet-like robotic avatars often bound to a single chamber by the umbilical chord that keeps the puppet active. Sustaining their immense processing power required vast amounts of water, which they cycled and expelled as torrential rain, fundamentally shaping the world around them. Isolated within their cans, they grappled with existential questions and the legacy of their vanished creators, their interactions often marked by a blend of profound intellect and a weary resignation to their monumental task of solving the great problem, which is creating a way to easily escape the Great Cycle without the use of Void Fluid. The great cycle is a force spanning all realms within Rain World that, in its most simple explanation, is essentially the cycling of souls trapped within a few realms, causing those who die to either eventually wake up where they last slept or move onto their next life within these realms. Escaping the Great Cycle to move onto new worlds requires one to be either blasted by karmic energies, die while being rude of all worldly desires, or jumping into the Void Sea to dissolve one's body to the point where one can't be resurrected by the Great Cycle. If one ascends using the latter two methods they may become an Echo due to their worldly attachments being too strong.
