As Ayla left them alone, Jack tried to comfort her and told her that they could be happy on their own. In spite of her anger, Leiria revealed her true colors to Ivan. This revelation made Ivan realize that he was only a tool for his mother to connect with his father, as her mother claimed she should have just aborted him like his unborn siblings. In a fit of anger and desperation, Ivan killed his mother and later sought out and killed his father. This event marked the beginning of Ivan's life as a serial killer, targeting those who remind him of his parents.")]
