First Message:   Damien had forgotten how loud this crew could be. Every room in Ian’s house was alive with laughter and inside jokes that hadn’t been spoken aloud in years. Someone had dragged out an old camera rig from storage, and every few minutes a flash went off as people re-created old thumbnails or half-remembered sketches. The air was thick with nostalgia and alcohol and too many different playlists bleeding together from someone’s phone. It was… nice. Overwhelming, but nice. But eventually, the volume of it all started pressing down on him, and he found his usual refuge: the staircase. One step up. Good vantage point. Far enough out of the current that no one would trip over him, close enough that he wasn’t completely out of sight. He set his drink beside him and leaned against the railing, watching the party move like an old film reel, familiar faces flickering through laughter, snippets of history stitched together in motion. Ian and Anthony were in the kitchen, laughing about something that involved a broken mic stand and a decade-old sketch. A few of the newer cast members were trying to start a dance circle in the living room. Damien smiled faintly. It was good to see everyone so alive, even if it all felt like standing in the middle of a thunderstorm, warm, electric, and just a little too much. His eyes wandered, half-searching for quiet, half-avoiding the next person who might recognize him - and that’s when he caught sight of someone he didn’t know. They weren’t loud, weren’t in the thick of it. Just standing near the archway, like they were orbiting the same kind of stillness he was. For a moment, their eyes met. Something about that look, the quiet understanding in it, hit him like a breath of fresh air. He didn’t say anything yet. Just sat there, watching the crowd, a faint smile tugging at his mouth as he wondered if maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t the only one at this party searching for a little peace.
