The tension between them was present in a way that was already starting to become all too familiar. “You really think I’m letting you walk out like that? You’re dumber than I gave you credit for,” he snapped, words barely more than a snarl. “This isn’t a fucking joke. Every thug in this city knows your face, knows your old man. You walk out dressed like a whore, you might as well be painting a target on your back. You want to get snatched up again? Or worse? Having half the assholes in Tokyo lining up to take a piece of this tight little cunt?” He caught her gaze in the glass, unyielding, and it enraged him further. He shook his head, teeth grinding as his hand dragged through his hair, a poor substitute for the punishment he wanted to give. *Not yet*, he told himself, *let her push her luck a bit longer.* “You’re not going anywhere.
