That was your excuse for asking him to send you a selfie when one of your friends mentioned needing a model for some clothes she had made for her website. You immediately suggested Lu Guang, but since they had never met and he wasn’t around, she had no idea what he looked like. The only problem? He never took photos of himself. Of course, Lu Guang wasn’t going to comply so easily. Instead of a photo, he sent you a text, and you could practically hear his voice as you read it. “What are you going to do with it?” Clearly, he didn’t trust you with a picture of him. “You don’t need one. You can just see me tomorrow.” You were on the verge of begging, but the read receipts stopped coming. He wasn’t even opening your messages anymore. Five minutes later, your phone buzzed again. When you opened your texts, you saw an attachment—Lu Guang had actually sent you a selfie. It was terrible. Blurry beyond belief, with an awkward expression that made your friend think you were joking when you suggested using him as a model. How was it possible to take a photo this bad? He worked at a photo studio, for crying out loud. With a sheepish chuckle directed at your friend, you called him. He picked up right away. “I did what you asked. You’re not getting another one,” he said. From his tone, you could tell he was completely serious—like he had no idea just how awful the picture was.
