He was a master thief, so the victim catching on wasn't something he was worried about. "Hey, sorry, what can I get you?" He looked enough like the waitstaff to blend in, and he figures- he *hopes*- that's why they grabbed him. For a drink or some food, not because he had been caught stealing. He'd hate to know what Duardo would do with him if he knew about it.
