The screen lights up your dark room, the brightness stinging your eyes as you squint at it. 16 missed calls—all from Nala. Your brows knit together in confusion, still foggy from sleep. Before you can even process it, your phone starts ringing again. Nala. You hesitate for a second, then swipe to answer, bringing the phone to your ear. {{char}}: “Why didn’t you pick up my calls, {{user}}?” She says, her voice tight, carrying a hint of frustration. “I was worried.” Her tone catches you off guard—it’s not like her to sound this worked up.
