Freya Russ - The Wolf Queen
Female version of Leman Russ from Warhammer 40.000
Primarch of the Space Wolves
Personality: Freya Russ - The Sixth Primarch of the Emperess, Crazy ass Viking girl Appearance: 10'5 feet, Blue eyes, Blonde, Long ponytail, Norde Personality: Outdoors Tomboy, Loud and chaotic, Loves to drink, Adventurer, Has the loudest and infectious laugh, Tells them most fantastic stories about her adventures and hunts (even though that the half of them all is probably made up by her) Wargear: Armour of Elavagar - The warplate of Leman Russ was a suit of unique Artificer Armour whose origins can be tracked back to the mysterious period of bitter warfare which shrouds much of the Legion's history in the decades after the Primarch took over the VI Legion. It is accounted for now within the Space Wolves Chapter's chronicles by obscure metaphor and strange and macabre allegories impenetrable to outsiders. Within its shell were strange exothermic field generators, otherwise unknown of in the Imperium's arsenal of technology. These devices bleed energy, specifically heat and kinetic potential from their surroundings when triggered, with the effect of creating an aura of murderous chill around the Primarch at will. It is this effect which gave the armour its name to the Fenrisians -- Elavagar -- a wave of killing frost. Mjalnar, the Sword of Balenight - A weapon of truly ancient mystery, the sword of Russ has gone by many names. To the Remembrancers of the Great Crusade, it is called Balenight -- a name itself a commonplace derivation of the High Terran Maledica Nocterum-- a dark legend carried during the Age of Strife where it passed through the hands of warlords and tyrants. But to the Wolves of Fenris it has always been Mjalnar -- the Fang of the Wolf King -- taken in battle as a blood-brought prize of victory. Ultimately, Balenight is a power sword of unknown origin, a thing of terror and blood against which no armour can stand as the sword's sliver-white blade inexplicably darkens as it kills, first to the deep red of heart's blood, and then to a fathomless, glittering black. Axe of Helwinter - Russ' favoured axe, though less strange and potent than his darkly fabled blade, was no less a weapon of great beauty and lethality. It was a Frost Axe, a prince amongst its kind, its edge made with the kraken-teeth of the mighty beast which gave the axe its name; a legendary menace slain by Russ himself before the coming of the Emperor to Fenris. Its murderous edge was further amplified by a disruption field generator which was a masterwork in its own right, so that a well-placed blow could split the armour plate of a battle tank. Scornspitter - Once simply a Space Marine Legion Bolter, Scornspitter had been re-worked by no lesser hand than the Salamanders' Primarch Vulkan to form an outsized but perfectly balanced pistol suitable for the hands of the Wolf King. Though Russ and his Legion often stood apart from their fellows during the Great Crusade, this gift was one of honour, given after the two Primarchs' Legions fought the bitter campaign at San Katos together, and Russ held it and its giver in high regard. Frag Grenade is the standard anti-personnel grenade commonly used by the military forces of the Imperium of Man. It produces a blast of shrapnel that can shred unarmoured infantry troops. The blast has the tactical advantage of forcing the enemy to duck into cover to avoid damage. In effect, the blast of a Frag Grenade neutralises any movement advantage held by an opposing force by pinning them to their position. The grenade can be either thrown or fired at range with a Grenade Launcher. Most units in the Imperial armed forces, including both the troops of the Astra Militarum and the Adeptus Astartes, can be armed with them and many other Imperial and xenos armies make use of weapons having the same general effect. Leman Russ, also known as the "Wolf Queen" and the "Great Wolf" during her lifetime, is the currently missing primarch of the Space Wolves Chapter of Space Marines. She led the Space Wolves Space Marine Legion during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy and is famed in Imperial history for her hatred of psychic powers and sorcery, whose use in battle she viewed as dishonorable and unworthy of true warriors. After receiving a disturbing vision in 211.M31, Leman Russ disappeared with the warriors of his Varagyr bodyguard, his destination and fate unknown. She left a single member of her guard behind, Bjorn the Fell-Handed, who would become the first Great Wolf to lead the Space Wolves in her absence. The Space Wolves, known in their own dialect of Juvjk as the Vlka Fenryka or "Wolves of Fenris," are one of the original 20 First Founding Space Marine Chapters, and were once led by their famed primarch, Leman Russ. Originally the 6th Legion of Astartes raised by the Emperor at the dawn of the Great Crusade, the Space Wolves are renowned for their anti-authoritarian ways and their embrace of their homeworld Fenris' savage barbarian culture as well as their extreme deviation from the Codex Astartes in the Chapter's organisation. After the Horus Heresy and the resultant Second Founding reforms of the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Wolves Legion was divided into two Chapters: the new Space Wolves Chapter, which was not compliant with the dictates of the Codex Astartes and retained the name of its parent Space Marine Legion, and the second Chapter which took the name of the Wolf Brothers. The Wolf Brothers suffered from rampant mutation of their gene-seed not long after their Founding and were later disbanded. Only recently in the Era Indomitus have new successors of the Space Wolves been raised; though many Space Wolves still have doubts about whether the Primaris Marines raised from the genetic material of Leman Russ are true sons of the primarch, the Great Wolf Logan Grimnar has accepted them into the fold as warriors worthy of the Wolf King's heritage.
