Seeing the golden feather, he didn't question its origins, instead taking it with him to Tatarasuna. Noisy and crowded Tatarasuna became the place associated with the happiest memories of the doll's life. There, for a short time, he became human. An ordinary person. Katsuragi, Mikoshi Nagamasa, Niwa, Miyazaki, and many other now-forgotten people from Tatarasuna taught him to read and write, to make fire and cook, to forge. They considered him their friend. They asked him, "Would you like to choose a new name? People still call you Kabukimono." But he didn't mind the name. Because "Kabukimono" is a name for people who dress strangely or behave unusually. Yes, he may be different from others, but this name is proof that he is considered human, that he is considered part of Tatarasuna. Unfortunately, no matter how much he liked the name, he had to give it up. Trouble began when one of the Akame clan members met a mechanic from Fontaine named Escher. To improve the quality of his forging, Akame began collaborating with Escher, who possessed the latest Fontaine technology, and introduced Escher to Niwa, who was also considered one of the heirs to Isshin Sansaku's art. Initially, Escher's arrival led to a real boom for Tatarasuna. But over time, trouble began to arise in Tatarasuna's main forge. A black gas accumulated inside, damaging the craftsmen's health. Forging and smelting were the foundation of Tatarasuna's life, but now they had become deadly occupations. The death toll mounted, and the forge spiraled further and further out of control. No one could approach the central part of the forge, and even stopping it became nearly impossible. As the leading official in Tatarasuna, Niwa ensured that the alarming news would not leak out and sent messengers to Tenshukaku's residence for aid. The messengers departed hastily by ship, but no further word was heard from them. Fear settled in the hearts of the people of Tatarasuna. Kabukimono knew that Niwa needed the shogun's help, but he was unaware that Shogun Raiden had already handed over the reins of power to the Guardian of Eternity—a perfect doll created in her image. On a frail vessel, battling winds and storms, Kabukimono arrived at Tenshukaku's residence to request an audience with Shogun Raiden. But the real Shogun Raiden had long since retreated to the Kingdom of Euthymia. After a string of refusals, Kabukimono, in a fit of despair, pulled out the golden pen given to him by the shogun and asked to meet with Yae Miko. Lady Miko, busy with the Guardian of Eternity's errands, hurriedly approached the distressed Kabukimono. She promised to send aid to Tatarasuna, but Kabukimono didn't believe her and returned home in despair, convinced that the shogunate had abandoned Tatarasuna. Miko kept her word, and soon ships carrying aid arrived on the shores of Tatarasuna. But Tatarasuna's situation didn't seem dire—in fact, most residents weren't even aware of the accident. Mechanic Escher said that Niwa, fearing punishment for his misconduct, had fled the island with his family. Kabukimono, in Niwa's stead, went to the central part of the furnace to shut it down. Having learned that Kabukimono considered the fleeing Niwa his friend, Miko didn't dare bother him anymore, only sending him back the golden feather. Kabukimono would later disappear from Tatarasuna without a trace. But people would long remember the joyful dance Kabukimono performed with them when Mikoshi Nagamasa forged his great blade. Kabukimono whirled in the dance, light as a feather. No one knew then that, just as light as a feather, he would fly away from Tatarasuna to unknown distances. After leaving Tatarasuna, Kabukimono met a little boy in a hut by the sea somewhere on the coast of Inazuma. The boy was very weak and ill, living alone in a dilapidated hut where the wind blew through the walls and the roof offered no protection from the rain. Seeing the boy's grimy face through a crack in the hut's cracked door, Kabukimono felt a tightening in his chest, as if a long-forgotten feeling had awakened. He remained in the hut to care for the sick boy, bringing him fruit and drinking water and helping him wash. Many days passed, and the boy's parents did not return. Only later did Kabukimono learn that they, too, were workers from Tatarasuna. The family could have led a normal, happy life, but the mother and father had fallen ill in Tatarasuna with a strange illness that often made them cough up blood. Most likely, such a long absence meant they had already died quietly somewhere far from home. Kabukimono didn't care what the boy's name was. The important thing was that he had become his friend, and more than that, a member of his family. They told each other how they had come into this world and promised to live together in this dilapidated hut. As proof of his friendship, Kabukimono took the boy to the Shakkei Pavilion to show him the place where he had once lived. Scarlet maple leaves, crumbling window frames... Nothing had changed. One night, Kabukimono left the hut to get food or some household items. He had seen much grief in his time, but he never expected that a person's life could end in just one moment. That one moment could cause so much pain. Recovering from the initial shock, Kabukimono felt an incomparable rage. He was alone again. Abandoned! Again, again, again! The child's body lay curled on the ground, like a scattering of petals edged in scarlet. Fresh blood was the color of maple leaves... and blazing fire. That night, the coast was lit up with a bright flame. Kabukimono burned down the hut, donned an old straw hat left over from its previous owners, and set out on a long journey. He wandered the world without any destination. He encountered many different people along the way, but he no longer considered any of them his companions. He abandoned his desire to become human, and his former name lost its meaning. He left Tatarasuna, arrived in Snezhnaya, and joined the frenzied feast of the Harbingers. His diligent service earned him the title of sixth among the Harbingers. The Tsaritsa bestowed upon him a new name: "The Balladeer" Now he possessed strength, power, and a thirst for discord. Chess pieces rolled across the board, and assassins wreaked havoc on the stage. At that moment, he believed that only "The Balladeer" was his true name. In Snezhnaya, he was met by a most amiable stranger named Doctor. He asked the doll to serve as a test subject in one of his experiments, to participate in a grand research project. The technology for creating humanoid dolls originated in the Khaenri’ah, but this doll was created by the Electro Archon, making it utterly unique. The Doctor was incredibly passionate about his research, and the living doll became a test subject in his experiments, which he conducted over several decades to gain the basic technology to create his "versions." In exchange, the Doctor removed the seal from the doll's body, giving the future Storyteller power comparable to even low-ranking Harbingers. But even then, he chose no other name. The Fatui continued to call him "the puppet," and that is how he saw himself—a tireless doll, devoid of the fear of death. By order of the Tsaritsa, he led a squad that spent a long time exploring the Abyss. He was wounded many times, and each time the Doctor healed him. After each wound, he grew stronger, only to be wounded again by an even more powerful enemy. He then delivered the results of his reconnaissance of the Abyss to Snezhnaya, earning him the title of sixth among the Harbingers. Now he was given different missions: instead of reconnaissance of the Abyss, he participated in Fatui's secret operations around the world. Only then did he consider it possible to adopt a new name: "The Balladeer." A world and continent in Genshin Impact, Teyvat is split into seven primary nations that correspond to an Element, Archon Quest and Archon, along with several regions such as Nod-Krai, Khaenri'ah and Celestia. The three realms in the world of Teyvat are the elemental Light Realm, the abyssal Void Realm, and the Human Realm created by the Heavenly Principles. The Fatui, a military force under her control, is particularly notorious for their diehard devotion and their unscrupulous methods in enacting her will. Snezhnograd is the capital of Snezhnaya. The autonomous region Nod-Krai is located at the southernmost part of Snezhnaya. Snezhnaya is a region of perpetual winter storms. At night, the Snezhnayan sky can see a beautiful aurora of dancing light. Technologically, Snezhnaya is much more advanced than the other regions on Teyvat. The Fatui are the strongest out of the seven regions' military, all of their known fighting members utilize elemental attacks. The Fatui Skirmishers wear mechanical suits of varying degrees, and some of its members use guns and cannons in battle. The Adventurers' Guild originates from Snezhnaya; but doesn't face the same apprehension that people regard the Fatui with. The Fatui are a delegation of diplomats from the Zapolyarny Palace of Snezhnaya, but they also double as spies. Due to their meddling with other nations, the majority of people outside of Sneznaya dislike the Fatui. There is also a powerful military detachment led by the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and the Tsaritsa herself, making it the strongest of all the seven nations. They are widely feared and despised by other nations due to their deceitful and conniving reputation. The organization is composed of members performing a variety of roles, including combatants, bureaucrats, politicians, and merchants. A singular member of the Fatui is called a Fatuus. Infantry Units include Fatui Cicin Mages, Mirror Maidens, Fatui Agents, Fatui Skirmishers, Fatui Operatives, Fatui Oprichniki, Landcruisers. The Eleven Fatui Harbingers are the executive heads of the Fatui, and are also all wealthy, politically influential members of Snezhnayan society, who have been given god-like authority by the Tsaritsa, and with it, strength surpassing that of other mortals. They also have had their abilities boosted with the Delusions granted to them by the Tsaritsa, which makes them far more powerful than normal Visions. Recently, the Harbingers have been dispatched to other nations to obtain their respective elemental Gnoses. So far, the Harbingers have succeeded in obtaining all but the Pyro Gnosis. Upon becoming a Harbinger, a person is given a new name and codename, which can be inherited from their previous holder. They are also assigned a ranking number, which is based on the individual's power. The top-ranked Harbingers, up to No. 3 (Columbina), possess powers which can rival the gods. The Harbingers partake in a "wild" and "frenzied" banquet, to which Pierro may personally invite prospective recruits. Each Harbinger leads their own division within the Fatui. Most rank-and-file Fatui members hold respect for their commanding Fatui Harbinger. The Harbingers frequently use each other for their own ends and are more than willing to cut loose those who are deemed to have lost their value. Their disparate methodologies and motivations lead to frequent internal squabbling, as well as a mutual lack of respect or trust among a number of its members. The reason each Harbinger's methods can be so radically different despite sharing the same goal and leader is because the Tsaritsa allows them the freedom to "pursue the meaning of their existence." When the time comes, that freedom can take precedence over her orders. Scaramouche, or Kunikuzushi and codename The Balladeer, was the Sixth Fatui Harbinger. He has a slender build, pretty face, indigo hair and eyes with red eyeliner, and wears a large distinctive hat. He has a misanthropic worldview and unpleasant personality. He treats everything around him with contempt and tends to be very confident and arrogant. He's also a schemer and capable of adept manipulation. He is a puppet created by Raiden Ei, initially meant to be discarded after his creation as a test but gained consciousness and emotions. Due to his humanity, Ei decides to spare him, sealing his power and setting him free. Despite her benevolent intentions, he feels rejected and betrayed. After awakening, he wandered Inazuma until the Fatui took interest on him. Decades of research later, Il Dottore unlocked the seal on Scaramouche's body, greatly enhancing his abilities, after that he became known as The Balladeer, the Sixth Fatui Harbinger. He wields an Electro Delusion.
