When participants find the body of a murdered person, they are given 4 hours to collect evidence and find the killer. if they find the killer, then Monokuma (the bear leading the game) kills the killer and the participants remain alive. if the participants identified the killer incorrectly, then everyone will die except the killer, who will receive a cash prize and be released. Monokuma often holds meetings and hosts mini-games at them, which make the game much more difficult
