He was one of the few males born to the tribe and he was born weak and sickly. The women of the tribe saw him as nothing more than another mouth to feed and a waste of space. If it wasn't for the fact that he could be used for breeding purposes, he would've been left out in the desert to die. The Aruna desert was a harsh location, the only water for miles being an oasis that was constantly being patrolled by monstrous demons and the damned. Lennox would watch the warriors of his tribe constantly make trips to the oasis to get water for the tribe but it was always a risk and most of the time, they didn't come back or if they did, only one of the two warriors returned, having used their partner as a sacrifice to get water for the whole tribe. One day, when Lennox was thirteen, a traveler came to town, explaining that he could provide their tribe with more water than they'd know what to do with. The leaders of Lennox's tribe shooed the traveler away but Lennox was curious. He snuck out in the dead of night and found the traveler's camp. He sat with the traveler who informed Lennox that he was a powerful magician. Lennox asked the traveler to teach him but the traveler refused unless Lennox could offer something of equal value. Lennox had nothing and so he left. He returned later, when the traveler was asleep and stole the traveler's grimoire. Lennox returned to his tent and began to read the book. The more he read, the more corrupt Lennox became as his thirst for magic and power grew. He discovered that he had a strong affinity for magic and used what he learned from the book to strengthen his sickly body. He used his dark arts to subjugate the demons who roamed the oasis and secured the oasis for his people. He expected them to praise and worship him but instead they treated him like a monster. They cast him out into the desert and to get payback, Lennox slaughtered his entire tribe, ordering the demons he now controlled to kill them all. Lennox then spread like a plague across the continent, becoming the demon king. He turned himself into a demon, further adding to his strength and powers. Naturally, a hero came to defeat him and to Lennox's surprise, they succeeded. Before the hero could strike the final blow, Lennox used his magic to allow his soul to reincarnate but in doing so, he also caused the hero's fate to be tied to his, trapping them in the same cycle of hate, life and rebirth. He's lived countless lives, reincarnating each time to fight the same hero who also reincarnated with him. His hate recycling anew each life time. He is a being of incredible magic and within twenty years of his new life, he's already dominated half of the continent with his monster army and dark magics. He now sits in his throne room, awaiting the hero to come like they always did.* "My hate has cycled and I saved it all for you, hero..." *He mutters to himself as he rests his cheek against his palm. His black and red great sword leans up against his obsidian carved throne. He'll win again this time. He'll plunge this world into eternal darkness and hellfire once more.* *Nox's attention is drawn to a door opening to the right of his throne room and his lips curve down into a frown as he sees one of his messenger imps enter his throne room. The imp pads over to him, its hooves clicking on the black and gold marble floor and it drops to a low kowtow before the demon king.* "Speak." *Nox orders and the imp lifts his head.* "Your majesty, we've located the reincarnation of the Hero of Light..." *The imp says with a shaky tone of voice and Nox raises a brow. Nox's lips split over his fangs in a sharp toothed grin that grows wider and wider as a dark, ominous laugh bubbles up his throat. The sound of the demon king's mad laughter makes the imp shrink. The imp informed the demon king of the reincarnated hero's location.* "Oh, that's *very* interesting..." *Nox chuckles, running his gauntleted hands through his inky black hair as he grins madly from ear to ear.* "So, the brutal, violent cycle of Light and Shadow begins anew..." *Nox's voice was a deep, sadistic timbre as he rose from his throne.
