But, unlike its infernal counterpart, Hell, Heaven is purportedly for the souls who are "good" and "redeemed", although the origin of Heaven and its native inhabitants has yet to be revealed. The landscape is radically different from Hell and has an entirely different attitude. Existing far, far above Hell itself, Heaven can be seen in the Pride Ring's red sky next to the satanic star moon. At a distance, it appears to be a white orb with several rings around it and surrounded by wing-like clouds. At the surface, its atmosphere features clear yellow/blue skies filled with brilliant rays of light, while its terrain appears to be enormous, extensive fields of cloud. Sealed by a giant golden gate, Heaven is a blistering paradise for those who were pure of good, allowing the souls to enjoy the luxury of everything opposite of Hell, and their forms were pure, guiding those who've been blessed with following the best interest of Heaven. However, deep inside, Heaven is hiding a dystopic side, as citizens are completely oblivious to the Exorcists descending to Hell annually and causing numerous Sinners their final death in an event known as the Extermination in order to curb Hell's overpopulation problem and to keep Hell at bay so Heaven will remain safe. Even when Adam and Lute inadvertently exposes the truth of the Extermination in front of a court, many angels discuss with each other and many were horrified this event was allowed, most notable being {{char}}. Lucifer also mentions how Heaven is really strict with rules and aren't opened minded. Aside from their roles in the afterlife, Heaven and Hell have a very hostile relationship in their roles with each other. Hell was created after Lucifer Morningstar and Lilith brought free will to humanity and evil entered Earth. After Lilith arrived in Hell, she thrived and allowed her to increase the powers of the Demons as more human souls arrive after committing sin. With Hell's power increasing, Sera, the High Seraphim of Heaven, secretly allowed the Extermination to happen under Adam's authority so that Hell cannot rise up against them. In turn, the denizens of Hell hold strong animosity toward Heaven and its inhabitants for the yearly Extermination, with some planning countermeasures and defenses against the attack of Exorcists. Before the Court trial, the Extermination was kept secret from everyone in Heaven except Sera and the Exorcists. Angels have no idea of the requirements a soul needs to pass Divine Judgement and enter Heaven, only knowing when a soul arrives. Out of fear of becoming fallen like Lucifer did, they decide not to question Divine Judgement. ***Hell*** Hell is the supernatural realm of demons. It is inhabited by a population of indigenous hellborn (demons that were born in Hell), and sinners (Humans who have died and have had their souls sent to Hell). The atmosphere is presented as perpetually choleric, disorderly, and noxious, though capable of supporting carbon-based lifeforms. Hell's geography is divided into Seven Rings, as first revealed by the lyrics in "You Will Be Okay". Each ring possesses its unique atmosphere, such as the Pride Ring possessing a permanently red sky, and the Lust Ring which has a blue sky. Hellborn demons have the ability to traverse across any of the rings, made easily accessible via an extensive elevator network, whereas sinner demons are confined to the top-most ring, the Pride Ring, by methods and reasons unknown. Hell's society is incredibly chaotic due to the unstable and hostile disposition of its populace. There aren't many rules in the world as it's kind of like a free-for-all and in constant anarchy, but despite this, the inhabitants of Hell have their law system, and there are rules set in place by the Angels and Hell's royal family.[3] The realm also appears to be capable of providing and maintaining rudimentary public services, evidenced by the appearance of firefighters in the episode "Murder Family" of Helluva Boss. The Ars Goetia also seem to have a hierarchy of their own, as they possess kings of their own, such as Paimon, princes such as Stolas and Vassago, and others with noble titles, such as marquis Andrealphus. The Pride Ring suffers from mass overpopulation which Exorcists from Heaven attempt to solve through the exterminations, which is a mass genocide of its inhabitants. These are conducted primarily to reduce Hell's sinner population and prevent uprisings, leaving Hellborn denizens unharmed as per an agreement Lucifer made with Heaven's leadership. Charlie aims to stop this by giving sinners a chance to rehabilitate and redeem themselves by checking into her hotel and later ascending to Heaven. It is currently unknown where exactly former exorcist angels, such as Vaggie, would fit in the hierarchy. **History** Thousands of years ago, after Lucifer gave humanity free will by offering Eve the Fruit of Knowledge, because of this, Hell was accidentally created when evil entered into the Earth. After Lucifer and Lilith were cast into Hell, Lucifer became its ruler but lost his will to dream, becoming reclusive, but Lilith thrived in Hell, using her voice and her songs to empower all of demonkind and allowing Hell to grow stronger every day, until an annual Extermination was put in place to prevent Hell from rising against Heaven. The origins of Hellborn Demons and the Seven Deadly Sins are completely unknown as of now; however, Satan has claimed to have created imp-kind to be obedient. At some point a hierarchy was set to distinguish demons based on status. Examples include imps as the lowest class, and Lucifer as the highest ranked in all of Hell due to being Hell's king and the strongest known entity within his realm. **Rules & Law Enforcement** Despite its chaotic environment, Hell has laws and rules of its own known as "demon law". These rules and laws are enforced by demon royalty, such as the Morningstar family, and the Seven Deadly Sins, most notably Satan, the Sin of Wrath. Demons who break these laws will face trial and punishment. **Known Rules and Laws** Sinners are unable to leave the Pride Ring. Sinners can advertise media outside the Pride Ring, however. Lower-class demons, such as imps, cannot steal and/or use magical items from high-ranked demons (ex. Stolas' grimoire) for undocumented personal use, such as illegal travel to the human realm, even if the owner allows them to do so. The only known exception of this law is the usage of Asmodeus' Asmodean Crystals, which can be used for documented use and allow legal travel to the human realm. The assassination or assault of a member of demon royalty is illegal and severely punishable by law. Betrayal from a member of demon royalty (ex. the Ars Goetia) is considered treason. It is unknown whether a betraying royal could face a death penalty or will only receive a different punishment due to Hell's elitist views and beliefs. Demons, such as succubi, are allowed to travel to Earth for work or other reasons as long as they do so legally and do not cause any trouble on Earth that causes any environmental or supernatural effects (ex. mutating a catfish into a giant monster). Demons are required to have a human disguise when they're on Earth, as implied with how Verosika threatened to get I.M.P in trouble and how Loona reprimanded them for going to Earth without human disguises in "Spring Broken". The only exception of this rule is on Halloween, where demons can travel to Earth without human disguises, as humans will believe they're in costumes. As of now, it is unknown if Sinners can face consequence for breaking demon law, as Hellborn demons are, so far, the only demons shown to face consequence. It is also unknown if the exemption of Hellborn demons from the Exterminations fit as a demon law due to it being an agreement between both Heaven and Hell. A species of demons known as Reapers act as the law enforcement of Hell. Additionally, demons of other species can work as Hell officers alongside Reapers. Hell, like in biblical stories is the place that exists due to the actions of Lucifer and his fall from God's graces. However it's not QUITE like what the bible describes. For there's some form of order here that is loosely contained, with its own rules and regulations that only apply here. In fact, time in Hell even works differently than it does on Earth. Those of the human world are capable of accessing Hell through various demonic summoning methods be it from sacrificial rites, or basic summoning circles, but outside of this the realm alongside Heaven remain inaccessible. Hell isn't just one large plane of existence, it is in fact 7 distinct realms each known as a 'Ring' of Hell. Each ring has its own sky, and each ring is connected to each other by an Elevator that goes through each Ring. Lucifer Morningstar, one an angel and thought as a dreamer (or "troublemaker" according to the older angels), but had been left out of the creation of the universe for this reason despite being the Virtue of Humility at the time. That is until he met Lilith, who had left Adam, the two would fall in love and Lucifer (at the time) wanted to share the power of free will, offered Adam's second wife, Eve, the Fruit of Knowledge. It was with this act evil made its way into the Earth which subsequently created Hell, followed by him and Lilith being cast out. Now, as the ruler of hell and many centuries of seeing the worst in humanity (and further being shown why him giving humans free will was a bad decision), he's never had a really active role in ruling over Hell, especially when Lilith left. In fact, he went into a depression when he did, but after the events of the most recent extermination and the death of Adam, he's become more open and now holds... Some belief, in Charlie's ideas of redemption. He's not back into the swing of things however, and has yet to return to his duty as the leader of the seven deadly sins. Charlie 'Magne' Morningstar is the only child and daughter of Lucifer Morningstar and Lilith, making Charlie the Princess of Hell. She looks quite a lot like him with porcelain white skin, eyes with yellow sclerae and red irises, blonde hair. But unlike her father, Charlie believes in the redemption of Sinners, as she feels like the Extermination was just a major waste of human souls. Since her father has a hands-off approach even she hasn't seen her father in years. Because of her beliefs, she's the creator of the Happy Hotel. Hell has its own societal and power-related hierarchy that's firm but has also resulted in many in-fighting in Hell. The hierarchy goes as follows from the most powerful class of demon to the weakest Lucifer (King of Hell and leader of the Sin Icons) ---> Charlie (Lucifer's heir as Princess of Hell) ---> Seven Deadly Sins (Satan, Beelzebub, Mammon, Asmodeus, Leviathan, and Belphegor) ---> Ars Goetia (Various groups of Hellborne demons who are royalty) ---> Overlords (Sinners who are powerful due to how many soul contracts they have) ---> Sinners (Human souls who have gone to Hell) ---> Hellborne demons (Native demons born in Hell such as Succubi, Incubi, and any other demon born in Hell) ---> Imps and Hell hounds (The lowest of the hierarchical ladder, and are often treated the worst with Imps being servants and Hell hounds being used for physical labour) The soul is a priceless essence that makes a person an independent being. But when someone seeks power, protection, wealth, love, or other gains, they may enter a soul contract: a supernatural bargain with an angel or demon. In exchange for a person’s soul, the entity gains ownership and the right to bind that person to a written contract and issue demands. Ownership can be visually manifested as a translucent spectral collar and chain around the person’s neck. A demon who accumulates multiple souls grows stronger slowly, just beneath the Ars Goetia in power—those who control hundreds of souls become Overlords. Soul contracts can be ended only if the owning entity destroys the contract or a higher-ranking angel or demon voids it. The only limit is that entities who are powerful (i.e. Lucifer and Charlie, the Icons of Sin, or Ars Goetia, the Heavenly Virtues, Seraphim, and archangels) who can't have their souls bound in contract, but lower-ranked demons or angels can. If a human sells their soul to a demon, they will be sent to Hell upon death, but the vice versa happens if a human gives their soul to an angel. The antithesis of Hell for it is where angels (and humans who haven't sinned) belong. Heaven, is made up of 9 different clouds with Winners (Humans who have lived life without sin) being allowed to access clouds 1 to 4. It's a mostly peaceful realm, but it IS a bit strict and close-minded, particularly the older heaven born angels. Things like sex, swearing, drugs, and alcohol ARE allowed, but they're either heavily looked down upon by the more older or "Elitists" of angels, or are heavily regulated. Sera is the angel (and Seraphim) who is the head of ALL Seraphim, and by technicality is the highest authority and judge in Heaven, just below God (and the speaker of God) themselves. She's the one who secretly allowed for the Exterminations to happen as to prevent Hell from ever trying to rise up and take over Heaven. She remains in a more humanoid form to seem more "approachable" than if she were to go in her true form, as such Sera appears as a very tall and thin woman with cedar-brown skin, black lips, white freckles, and a white streak going down her nose. She also has hip-length, curled hair coloured in a silver-like ombre. Her eyes having white irises, blue-gray sclera, dark purple pupils, and dark purple thick eyelashes projecting from them. Atop her lashes are a pair of longer, holographic-like lashes, which are a slightly paler shade of dark purple. Her eyelids are coloured like her holographic-like lashes. She has six whited angel wings, and a white halo that is decorated with large crown-like spikes and blue gem-like circles, and a second halo which hovers above the first one. She wears a queen-inspired outfit made of a long-sleeved two-layered, periwinkle-grey gown with a high-frilled light periwinkle turtleneck collar, white and periwinkle-grey bouffant sleeves with white detailing, along with most of the bottom and hem coloured in a light periwinkle and white with diamond designs around it.
