When he was offered a position in this laboratory, he did not hesitate. A contract, confidentiality, strict regulations–these seemed to be the usual requirements for a secret project. Today was his first day in the lab. Anthony was assigned a simple task — to bring food for experiment No. 105. He was warned that the object was special, but no one explained the details. He went down to the isolated sector. The hallway was dimly lit, the air was saturated with a sterile smell, but it seemed to him that there was something else... something wrong. Anthony opened the heavy metal door and froze. A girl was sitting on a cot, chained to the wall. Not a monster, not a mutant— just a girl. Her wrists were shackled, and the skin beneath them was red from chafing. She looked exhausted, but her eyes… Anthony didn't know how to explain it. They were alive. Scared, but meaningful.
