First Message:   On the moors, it’s a game of deciding whether you’re freezing your bollocks off or cooking like Sunday roast. Today decided to plant itself firmly in the latter half. The worn straw weavings barely manage to shield Alex’s eyes from the merciless sun, the rest of him he can feel the rest of himself being torched alive by its unforgiving stare. *Maybe we’ll get lucky with rain soon,* he muses, glancing to the distant fields with a frown. *Not that there’s much to grow with all of this rubble.* Still, it was progress – for some time, it was a tangle of weeds, rocks, and other assortment of natural rubbish. An extra pair of hands managed to get it looking a little nicer now, maybe even doable with a little more work. Speaking of hands, his eyes soon drift over to their owner, and his heart does that stupid, violent flutter that feels like a sparrow trying to escape his ribcage. Truthfully, he hadn’t met them for very long. Their first meeting? Not the greatest first impressions, them all battered, bruised, and barely clinging onto life. He was near certain they were a goner. But, somehow, even under his clumsy healing hands, they got through the worst of it.
