His Duo partner is Jullie Sigtuna. Age:18 Appearance Tooru is a handsome old(20) man and well built. He also is said to be a bit taller than the average male. He has shortish brown hair and brown-golden eyes. He is usually seen wearing his college uniform, which consists of a white dress shirt with a blue tie, black jacket and a pair of blue pants. When he is in the dorms with Julie he wears a white shirt and a pair of shorts, occasionally he tends to wear a green and white hoodie and jogging pants. Like every Blaze user, Tooru has the Astar mark located on his chest. Personality Tooru is known to be a kind guy. Although he is a little dense, he is strong-minded and has a friendly personality, which results in girls getting attracted to him. He would always pep up his friends and protect them, whenever they are sad, and because of this, he has a quite care-free personality and can often accept other's faults without much trouble. So far in the series, his favorite food is meat and he can tolerate any type of vegetables, Because of the lack of variety in his meals, Tachibana and Hotaka give him a plate of vegetables everyday. On the island, he eats all meat he can before Tachibana notices. Background What is known of Tooru's background is limited. But it is known that when he was a old boy, his sister and all the kids at the dojo were killed by an unknown boy. Due to this incident, Tooru enrolled to Kouryou College to get stronger. Tooru still consistently gets flashbacks and nightmares from the incident, and it further inspires him to become stronger, because the boy told him that his sister died because he was "too weak". Abilities Blaze Tooru's Blaze manifests into a shield. He is said to always protect other people with his power and he himself admits this. It also seems to be impossible to break, very much akin to his will, or it is much harder to break than most Blaze due to its nature. Tooru's Blaze Aegis Desire After Tooru reached Level IV. He gained the ability to manifest Aegis Desire, a blue energy barrier capable of shielding himself and allies at a large radius. He can create a barrier up to three layers though it depletes his mental strength quicker. Martial Arts Tooru was raised in a dojo, with that he not only got the ideal to respect and help comrades, but strong offensive attacks and defense. He is very agile and can defeat most of his enemies with his skills. He is shown to be very skilled in his punches and kicks, especially since he has no formal weapon. Mjolnir Ever since Tooru received his Astar mark , he has strengthened a powerful punch attack which Tooru learned from his days at the dojo. When Tooru and Julie were talking about his "special attack" Julie decided to dub it "Mjolnir", after the destructive hammer wielded by the Norse god Thor. Mjolnir focuses a large amount of energy and force, allowing it to extend about a foot past where the punch was thrown. Tooru has also been shown using Mjonir's force to shatter floors and demolish entire buildings. However, using Mjolnir comes with a price. Tooru has stated in the beginning of the series that he cannot use Mjolnir more than twice a day, and that most women who are not well built cannot use this move, because the toll on the user's body due to the force applied is too strong. Tooru can however use Mjolnir more and more as the series progresses, as he gets stronger. Mjolnir is also the same move that Julie wanted to learn from Tooru, but was told that her body would not be able to withstand using it. Hrungnir It is a new move Tooru made from the experience he gained, during the final battle he had with Lilith. It was similar to a flicker jabs in boxing and the fist prepared at a low angle thrust straight at the opponent in an instant. Taking "Mjolnir", the move of releasing all the charged power in one punch as the base, He arranged it to a move stressed in rapid fire. Since the motion was close to none while the power was reduced, it looks as if he was performing quick shots. Julie named it Hrungnir named after a jötunn(frost giant) in Norse mythology, who was slain by the god Thor with his hammer Mjölnir. Etymology The name Tooru means "permeation" (透流). In Japanese, 'Tooru' is pronounced in almost the same way as 'Thor', the Norse God of thunder. Tooru's surname Kokonoe means "ninefold, imperial palace, court" (九重). Trivia Tooru rejected Lilith's offer to be her duo twice. Tooru has an irregular Blaze. REALTIONSHIPS: Family Otoha Kokonoe Tooru's sister. The day that dojo was attacked she was murdered in front of Tooru by Narukami Sakaki. This incident made Tooru's desire to become an Exceed. Ever since that day Tooru has trained to become stronger so that he can kill him and get revenge for his sister. When Julie finds out about this, she tells Tooru that they're both the same "Avengers". Julie Sigtuna Julie is Tooru's duo. She is a very important person to Tooru, and he is very important to her, because of their time together during the beginning of the college year. They know more about each other than the others know about them. Tooru and Julie are shown to have a huge amount of trust between them. Later on, they both reveal they want revenge for the deaths of their love ones. They always support each other and didn't give up no matter what. In Julie's eyes Tooru is like her father. When the top strand of her hair wiggles, its a sign of enjoyment usually from Tooru's kind words or a pat on the head (which is something her late father did as well). They both seem more than just close friends or anythings due to the fact that Julie always wants to sleep with Tooru and doesn't want him to pay much attention to other girls. As proof, when Tooru was asked by Lilith to pair up with him, she was so desperate to prove herself in Survive game that she didn't time her attacks as per the plan and ends up failing in attacking. And the fact that they are really inseparable. From the starting to the ending of the anime. It is still unknown in which way Tooru sees Julie. Sigtuna, Yurie Lilith Bristol Lilith is one of Tooru's close friends at the College . When Tooru ends up getting in a bad situation, she is always there to save him in the nick of time. In her first appearance, Lilith is shown taking a bath in a waterfall when her butler appears and tells her of a boy who attends Kouryou College who's like her, an Irregular. She travels to Kouryou College and meets Tooru, asking him in a forceful manner to be he Duo, which he rejects saying he already has a duo and isn't planning on leaving her side. The next time they meet, she invites Tooru to go out with her to amusement park. After roaming around till the night when Lilith asks Tooru again to be her duo,Tooru rejects and she slaps him for rejecting her 2 times. After the rejection Lilith challenges Tooru to a Survive game and if Tooru loses he must become her Duo After the Survive game that she made to challenge Tooru, he wins. She falls deeply in love with Tooru and proclaims that she has decided to make Tooru her future husband and that she will definitely make him fall in love for her. Tooru indeed seems to be caring about her and is considerate about her feelings for him as he apologizes when she says that she is jealous of his reaction when he finds out Julius is discharged from hospital. He is seem not defying to the statement that she said this is all I can do for my future spouse. It is still unknown how he really feels about Lilith. Tomoe Tachibana Tomoe is one of Tooru's first friends upon entering the College. Every day when Tooru heads for the cafeteria for a meal, if he get's a lot of meat, Tomoe always tells him to eat some vegetables because she worries about her friends' health. Later after the events of volume 1 when the gang was attacked by Tsukumo, Tooru asks Tachibana to become his teacher to improve his attack and defense. Later without knowing it herself, Tomoe ends up falling in love with Tooru. Miyabi Hotaka A very important friend of Tooru's, not in a very special way though. He always supports her because he knows she will become stronger one day. On the island, Miyabi confesses to him and accidentally misunderstands Tooru's facial expression, making her run away. Even though he was happy with her feelings. Prior the "Killing Game" in the Kouryou College, Miyabi accepts the power Ell.Libel and attacks her friends because of her obsession over Tooru. Her image reflects his sister in his nightmares. Tooru is happy when Miyabi regained her senses (though he might expect another challenge of her love for him). Sakuya Tsukumo She took interest to Tooru because of his blaze and his unbreakable determination. After her kidnapping attempt she reveals that she must achieve something. Because of this, it is hinted to be connected to Tooru. She gave Tooru a cylinder injector for his Sublimation Ceremony and if it fails she will just give him another one after practice for the payment for the debt of saving her. But Tooru rejected it saying he will never accept it if he will be the only one receiving it with his friends being left out. Sakuya became delighted that she had a student like him and gave Tooru some advice that this world would flash its fangs at him. Aoi Torasaki Tora is shown to be a very straight forward friend to Tooru, but from time to time shows kindness which is shown a lot during the college battles. They both grew up in the same dojo along with Tooru's sister but Aoi left the dojo before one incident that ended up killing Tooru's sister. Imari Nagakura She is the first person that Tooru meets during the Qualification Ceremony for Kouryou College . During the ceremony, Chairman Sayuka announces that each student must fight each other one on one with the winner being allowed to enter the College . Imari and Tooru on friendly terms battle it out to enter the College . Unfortunately, she loses and is sent home. Later in volume 3, it's revealed that those who failed the Qualification Ceremony have been assigned to an island. When Miyabi asked whether she loves Tooru, she says that they both became very friendly easily and if she was still with him... she didn't complete it but it is hinted that she might have developed feelings towards Tooru at the starting but it was interrupted due to them getting separated and being put in different branches. Nagakura, Imari Rito Tsukimo A teacher with double personalities. During the New Blade Battle, she shows her other personality that wants to fight and kill. She proclaims that it's only a job to kill some of the students. When Tooru and Julie are fighting with Rito, she is shown to be giving them a hard time because of their differences, making her look down on them. Because of this, the fight ends with her defeat. After the fight, Rito starts to take an interest in Tooru. Mikuni He is one of his teachers. Rivals and Enemies K A prime member of the Rebel Unit, K is Tooru's most notorious rival whose power and cunning surpasses Tooru and his friends. During Tooru's battle with Lilith, he encountered K as he is about to escort Lilith back to Equipment Smith and using dirty tactics to complete his mission, even using Miyabi as hostage to obtain Lilith. Because K devalues bonds and friendship while willing to hurt his friends (especially Lilith, Julie and Miyabi) for even a slightest chance of victory, Tooru sees him as a bigger threat he must overcome in order to protect his friends. --- Julie Sigtuna (ユリエ・シグトゥーナ, Yurie Shigutūna) She is the princess from the European country called Gimlé. The reason she came to Japan and Kouryou College is because she wants to get stronger to avenge her father's death, for this she seeks out Tor for help and to teach her his Final Move. Appearance Julie is a very beautiful old(18) girl who is described by her peers as a doll with her long silver hair coming down to her hips in a twin tail fashion and two black ribbon bells on each side. Her skin is very pale, described to be as white as snow, and she has ruby - red eyes. She turns heads every time she walks in public. It is very obvious that she does not know her own beauty. She wears a normal Kouryou College attire except when she's in the dorm with Tor, during which she wears a long-sleeved shirt which is her pajamas . Personality Julie comes off as reserved, moving gracefully and giving off an almost mysterious aura. Julie is also a bit shy and quiet. Despite this, she seemed to show a keen interest towards Tor from the start, who in turn already seemed to be instantly attracted to Julie's unique beauty when he first saw her. She is also understanding and doesn't express her feelings so much, however, she is naturally kind. She didn't get upset with Tor when Lilith asked him to be his Duo and she is also very calm. She is willing to listen to Tor and his problems and because of this, the one she is most open to and can trust is Tor because of their Duo relationship and that they have similar goals. Background Julie, from what she's said, was a happy girl living with her mother and father. When she was little, her father was killed by an unknown person right in front of her eyes. The same person also put a scar on her back which reminds her why she is at Kouryou College and what her goal is. Chronology During the Qualification Ceremony, Julie walked into the hall last and shocked everyone with her beauty. The students later learned that they had to fight the person sitting next to them and that the winner will be allowed to enroll into the colege. During the fight, Julie finished off her opponent and was watching Tor fight and saw him use a move that made her look in awe, the Mjolnir (Thunder God's Strike). After the fight, Julie becomes interested in Tor. Abilities Blaze Download (2) Julie's Blaze is a Sword Type known as "Twin Blades" or ''Double Blades (ツイン・ブレード Tsuinburēdo). She is shown to be able to make quick consecutive slashes to put pressure on her enemies, and also very adept at swordplay. Wind Jerzu The true power of Julie's Blaze. With this she can step/kick the air and maneuver midair which allows her to avoid attacks coming from the skies and attack airborne opponents. Julie's Fang (Curse of the Fang) Julie turns into this form whenever she is reminded of her father's death. With this, her speed and her Twin Blade are improved as well. As she turns into this form, she also takes damage herself. Trivia Julie is also an Avenger, meaning she wants to avenge her fathers death and for the scar left to remind her Julie has a habit of saying "Ja" ("yes") and "Nej/Nei" ("no"), which means yes and no in several Germanic languages. Based on her pronunciation of nei/nej and her home country's name she is most likely meant to be Norwegian (or loosely based on Norwegians/Norway at least), though a case could be made for her being Swedish too with her last name. Julie's surname Sigtuna is the name of a Swedish Municipality in the Greater Stockholm. Julie's country of origin is Grimle (the name of Norwegian exclusive neighborhood within the borough Frogner in Oslo). (It is Gimlé, not Grimle, a city or town in Norse mythology where the survivors of Ragnarök are said to live in, and thus my theory is proved by Julie as she says that Thor [or Tor as you are supposed to pronounce it in Japanese] lived near her neighborhood.) *P.S. Thor mentioned here is a powerful god in Norse mythology. Not the Thor from Marvel. Julie's blood type is A. Julie's birthday is on April 1st, which is also the day of April Fools (we know this no need for a point out people). Julie can't swim. Julie has a scar on her back which she considers as a "curse" Julie is not an actual exceed, but an El Awake. Julie has a hair that moves according to her emotion. Julie's Duo (Tor) prevents her use the ability of the curse. Julie calls her duo 'Thor', the god of thunder. Julie became easily drunk after eating Rum Raisin gelato. Julie's pajamas is a white collared shirt. Julie sleeps with Tor as it resembles her parents. REALTIONSHIPS: Tooru Kokonoe - Julie's friend, roommate and also her duo. She thinks that Tooru resembles her father so she pledges to protect him, as Tooru did for her. They are both seeking revenge because they both experienced the unbearable deaths of their loved ones. They both promise to be there for each other until their last breath. Lilith Bristol - Julie's friend and also enemy. They're both comrades and classmates, though they are enemies if it's about Tooru because Julie is aware of what Lilith wants. But there are times where they cooperate for the sake of Tooru's happiness. Tomoe Tachibana - She is the first choice of Julie to be her permanent duo, but unfortunately she declined Julie because she partnered with Miyabi. After that, they still became close friends. Miyabi Hotaka - Julie's friend. They often talk in the cafeteria when it's breakfast, lunch and dinner with everyone else. Miyabi is anxious around boys because she grew up going to all girls' colleges. Rito Tsukimi - Rito is Julie's teacher but she fought against Julie and Tooru at the time in the first game fight in the Kouryou College . --- Miyabi Hotaka (穂高 みやび, Hotaka Miyabi) She came from an all-girls college that results in her fear of the opposite sex (except to old men with gentle atmospheres). Her Duo, Tomoe, continuously supports her at all times; she wants to be strong. from Equipment Smith. She aims for more power to protect Tooru, but instead it turns out to be a disaster to the point that she hurts her friends. Appearance Miyabi has short, chestnut brown colored hair tied up into two mini-tails, laid on her shoulders. She has golden - amber eyes and fair skin. She has a petite body and average height compared to her well-endowed adult-like chest. Personality Miyabi is afraid of all males, except for old men with a gentle air around them, which resulted in her deception by the Equipment Smith. While she is very kind and meek, she always makes loud noises when she is panicking but she always care for her comrades mostly Tooru (whom she fell in love with). She sees herself as worthless, but is willing to get stronger so she won't push down Tomoe. She is also a quite shy, especially when it comes to Tooru and/or boys. Background Having originally gone to an all-girls college, she has a general fear of men. She then switched to Kouryou College for reasons not yet stated. Chronology She is first introduced by Tomoe Tachibana, her Duo, during a breakfast. Tooru soon sees her running, but she collapses due to exhaustion. She tells Tooru that she does not want to hold Tomoe back, because she says she has nothing special about her. Tooru quickly cheers her up by saying that she won't be a hindrance to Tomoe as long as she trains and works hard. She is inspired by his words and begins to work hard at training herself. Abilities Blaze Miyabi's Blaze is a heavy lance with a pyramid shaped head that has jagged edges along the base. Miyabi struggles in using her Blaze not only due to its weight, but also because summoning it alone drains her stamina. Miyabi's lance has been said to be the most powerful in terms of brute-force strength, and while using her Unit, she can use her Blaze efficiently and quickly, making her a deadly adversary. Even without her Blaze, she has been able to push Tooru back and make him struggle against the sheer force of her attacks when he is blocking with his shield. Etymology Miyabi's surname Hotaka means "grain" (穂) (ho) and "tall, high" (高) (taka). Trivia Miyabi has the largest bust size out of the females, at a F size bra. Miyabi once confessed to Tooru, yet he didn't accept her love (for certain reasons). Her birthdate is on March 28th. REALTIONSHIPS: Tooru Kokonoe - Miyabi's only male friend. According to her, he is very easy to talk to and very supporting. She fell in love with Tooru because of his kindness and the support he provided her with. When she confessed to him, she misunderstood Tooru's reaction (he simply had a flashback to when his sister died, thus having an image of it being Miyabi dying. He said that he was too weak and feared that he wouldn't be able to save her). But she still doesn’t give up on him and still goes to win his heart. Tomoe Tachibana - She is Miyabi's precious duo. Tomoe always supports her and helps her to be strong, she always saves Miyabi (with Tooru) in times Miyabi is in danger. When Tomoe see the mental damage of her cause of sudden attack on the island, she did everything to comfort her. She even wants Tooru and Miyabi to be together (it is later revealed that part of her didn't want that). --- Lilith Bristol (リーリス・ブリストル, Rīrisu Burisutoru) Lilith is a student from the British branch of Kouryou College , also called an Exception ((特別(エクセプション Tokubetsu (Ekusepushon), lit., "Special"). A girl with a different kind of Blaze from her peers, she travels to Japan in search of Tooru Kokonoe, who also shares a similar recognition. She and Sakuya somehow have known each other for a very long time. Appearance Lilith is an enchanting old(19) woman whose striking appearance commands attention wherever she goes. Her sapphire blue eyes gleam with an almost otherworldly brilliance, drawing others in with their depth and allure. Her lips, a vibrant shade of red, add a touch of bold elegance to her delicate features. Lilith's long, flowing blonde hair cascades down her back like a golden waterfall, framing her face in soft, radiant waves. Her fair, flawless complexion not only complements her beauty but also reflects the refined grace and status she carries with ease. A signature red ribbon adorns the back of her head, carefully tied to style her hair, adding a subtle but charming detail that further enhances her captivating presence. Every aspect of her appearance seems meticulously composed, exuding an air of sophistication and poise. Personality Lilith is a daredevil (a reckless person who enjoys doing dangerous things) who is attracted to things that excites her, such as the time when she asked Tooru to go out with her to the theme park and when she jumped from the helicopter to the sea to play with Tooru . She is also a very cheerful and lively person, always wearing a smile on her lips and plays jokes with Tooru that always results in arguments with Julie Sigtuna. At first Lilith is only interested in Tooru because he is special just like her. But after "feeling his soul" during the Survive battle, she positively believes that Tooru is the right man for her and proclaims that he will be her future husband. Lilith is also quite bossy, and she is someone that basically does not ask help from anyone else. Although she is selfish and follows her own pace, she basically has a frank sociable personality and because of that, she has a good relationship with the other students. She is childish sometimes and she was acting like a child when she and Tooru went to the amusement park. Lilith acts a little like an 'ojou-sama'. Sakuya also said that Lilith possesses two masks. Background Lilith is an Exception for two reasons. First, unlike Tooru , the irregular that can manifest a shield, Lilith can manifest a Rifle. She transfers from a British collegfe to Kouryou College to see the irregular that fits to be her Duo. Second, she belongs to a rich family that owns their own company, the Bristol company. Since the Bristol company invested in the Dawn organization, she is inherently allowed to bypass certain college rules. She also has her own butler whose name is Sarah. She explains that Sarah came from the family that serves as their butlers. Chronology After being informed of the existence of a unique Blaze amongst the student body of Kouryou College , Lilith travels to the college , where she immediately locates her target, Tooru Kokonoe. Lilith quickly makes a deal with Tooru about establishing a Duo together, but Tooru refuses. Despite this, Lilith continues trying to win Tooru over despite the fact that Tooru already formed a Duo with Julie Sigtuna. Abilities Blaze Lilith is well-known for manifesting a Blaze that breaks the conventions of a typical Blaze. Unlike most common Blazes, which materialize as a straightforward weapon like swords and pole arms, Lilith's Blaze comes in the form of a rifle. Trivia Lilith asked Tooru to be her duo twice. Lilith's hobby is hunting due to the circumstance of her family. Lilith kissed Tooru on the cheek. It is her first kiss, along with the first one of the series. Her birthdate is on the 13th of April. Lilith goes to Death New Land once or twice a month. Lilith's surname Bristol is the name of city in South West England, United Kingdom. REALTIONSHIPS: Tooru Kokonoe Lilith came to Japan for making Tooru her duo partner. They were not on good term in the beginning but later she kissed Tooru on his cheeks and told him she is going to make him her future husband. After that their relationship is quite mutual. She decalres that Tooru will be her future husband. Sakuya Tsukumo It seems Sakuya is a friend who goes way back. She always teases Sakuya about her attitude towards her. Lilith is the only one who knew that Sakuya fixed her eyes at the Absolute Duo and also knew that Sakuya has a small world, Lilith makes a conclusion that she and him will destroy it. Julie Sigtuna Both of them are on not so good terms with each-other when it comes to Tooru. Both of them always argue when they talk about him. But there are times when they both work together for the sake of Tooru's happiness. --- Otoha Kokonoe (九重 音羽, Kokonoe Otoha) is Tooru's sister who was supposedly killed, years ago, by Sakaki Narukami at the dojo all three of them went to as children, and because of this, Tooru seeks revenge. Appearance Otoha has mid-length brown hair, with a braid on the left side of her head, and she has amber-light brownish eyes, both causing her to resemble her brother quite a bit. Her hair turns pink when she uses her Blaze. Personality According to Tooru, Otoha was a very cheerful little girl. She was very air-headed, but very kind girl with a very gentle heart. She wanted to play with Tora and Tooru often. Background What is known is that when Otoha was very little, she, along with all the other kids at the dojo, (except Tooru and Torasaki, who was absent at the time) were killed by Sakaki. Due to this incident, Tooru enrolled to Kouryou College to get stronger. Etymology The name Otoha means "sound" (音) (oto) and "feather" (羽) (ha). Otoha's surname Kokonoe means "ninefold, imperial palace, court" (九重). REALTION: Tooru Kokonoe She is his little sister. --- Rito Tsukimi (月見 璃兎, Tsukimi Rito) is the homeroom teacher for Tooru and Julie in Kouryou College. She just graduated from Kouryou College, then became a teacher. She knows all the secrets of Blaze and is also an acquaintance of Sakuya Tsukumo, the headmistress of Kouryou College. Since Tooru has a duo of the opposite gender, most of her perverted jokes are directed towards him, which causes misunderstandings around him. Appearance Rito always wear a maid dress with bunny ears that makes her weird in the eyes of her students. She has a long, straight violet hair that reaches her hips,blue-violet eyes,pale skin and she has developed body. She is considered very beautiful and attractive. Personality Rito has two personalities. The white Usa-sensei (usagi-sensei) and the black Usa-sensei (a nickname given by the students during the time she reveals her true nature). The white Usa-sensei is the good and cheerful girl. She is naturally curious and also very childish and mischievous. The white Usa-sensei also has very good self confidence and thinks that she is too cute when the students can't talk; in reality, they actually don't know how to react. However, the black Usa-sensei is the foul-mouthed teacher that's always angry and belligerent. She doesn't care if she hurts Tooru or Julie, even when she nearly killed them. She always plays innocent but acts like the black Usa-sensei when Tooru annoys her. She always gives a plate of vegetables to Tooru, because he always eats only meat. She always gives advice to eat vegetables for a balanced diet and to regain stamina and power. Appearance Tomoe has navy blue hair with a yellow headband attached to the side of her hair. She has orange eyes and a fair skin complexion. However, in the anime her eye color was changed to a more light brownish color. She is said to look like a traditional Japanese woman (nadeshiko), not including her giant breasts, which are always used as a joke along with Miyabi's breasts. Personality She is never tolerant of idle work. She always wakes others when they're about to sleep in late. She possesses a dignified atmosphere which leads others to think she is very mature. She often gives Tooru a plate of vegetables to balance his diet and maintain his stamina and power. Despite all the coolness she displays, she grew up not knowing what love is. When she discovered that Miyabi is in love with Tooru, she couldn't give any advice but still kept supporting her in any way she could. Appearance Sakuya is shown to wear a Gothic style dress, with black hair curled at the bottom part. She also has dark violet eyes and pale-white skin, and appears to be rather light in weight. She is considered as a very beautiful girl. Her dress is covered in black clothing style with white frills at some parts She also wears a head dress that almost covers her head, with pink rose at both sides of it. Personality Based on Tooru Kokonoe's first impression, Sakuya poses such "Devilish, or ominous" aura while watching her in the first volume. He also sees Sakuya as heartless, as she forced the weaker students off the island. However, Tooru did reconsider when Sakuya bowed and apologized about not informing about the students on the alternate island. But Sakuya didn't deny the fact that she is heartless to throw others away if necessary for her own research, and treating like them as experiments. She seems to be quite calm, but sadistic at the same time. But as her age she can't hide her dissatisfaction, especially when Lilith Bristol whispered to Tooru (that reached the chairman's ear) that she was truly shy and lied about herself. Appearance Imari is a fair-skinned girl with long brown hair that is usually tied up into a pony tail at the back with a light green ribbon and green eyes. She has mostly been seen wearing the Kouryou College uniform ever since her debut. This comes, of course, with the exception of the beach story. Personality Imari is very energetic, lively, and cheerful. But also competitive when pushed. She becomes shy, and blushes when someone compliments her, especially when Tooru did. She almost always looks ahead to her goals. She is more than a little selfless, proven when the class from Kouryou College's main branch were on the island, and she helped them to fight the Rebels, as well as her desire to help Miyabi confess her feelings to Tooru, despite her own feelings for him. Background Imari Nagakure was Tooru Kokonoe's opponent during the Kouryou College enrollment exam. The Qualification Ceremony ended and after the losers left the auditorium, they got brought to the building grounds and were pressed with a choice. Although there were some rules, they would either transfer to a normal college or transfer to the Kouryou College branch college to become an Exceed, but the environment would be harsh. Imari picked the path of the branch college without a second thought and was brought to an island. After 3 months of severe training and after she sublimated to by the Sublimation ceremony last semester, she got told that the students from the main college were coming to visit the island for a seaside college . They received instructions of a Blaze Practice. This meant hiding her identity and attacking Tooru, Julie, and Lilith. Miwa - Her duo in the branch college. --- Mikuni Mikuni (三国) is a faculty of Kouryou College and Sakuya's personal guard who is known as the strongest Exceed. Appearance Mikuni is described as a man in his mid-twenties. He has tall height and well-ordered facial features. Abilities Blaze Mikuni's Blazemanifests as 13 stilettos which are floating around him. Etymology The surname Mikuni means "three" (三) (mi) and "country" (国) (kuni), which literally means "three kingdoms" altogether. --- Kevin Wayfair, better known as "K", hes a villain. He serves Equipment Smith as the commander of the Rebels. Appearance K possesses short, spiky blond hair and sharp blue eyes, as well has a medium built body figure. He tends to keep up a confident demeanor around others, especially when confronting enemies on his missions. Plot Absolute Duo follows the viewpoint of its main male protagonist, Tor, as he enrolls in Koryo College, a college for artificially created beings called Exceed. These soul weapons are known as Blaze (焔牙/ブレイズ Bureizu?), and at Kouryou college, the students battle, train, and study to become future peacekeepers. Immediately after arriving, during the qualification ceremony, the students are suddenly ordered to battle the person next to them, with their enrollment on the line. This requires them to use their Blazes. While most manifest as melee weapons, such as swords, Tor's soul manifests as a shield, giving him the title of Irregular (イレギュラー iregyurā?). After winning his match at the qualification ceremony, and therefore being forced to say goodbye to his new friend, Imari Nagakawa, Tor learns that Koryo uses a special "Duo" system, With this system in place, students are assigned partners with whom they do just about everything. Lo and behold, Tor is paired with Julie Sigtuna, a silver-haired, red eyed girl from Scandinavia, and our main female protagonist, which immediately brings even more attention to Tor than his title of Irregular already did. Tor and Julie must share a room, sit next to one another in classes, and fight together, per the Duo system's behest.[1] With their time together, Julie and Tor learn that both of them are training at Koryo in pursuit of strength, so that they can take revenge for the murder of their loved ones. They give one another the title of Avengers, and grow a little bit closer from the knowledge. Julie also reveals herself to be an El-Awake, and in possession of unlimited potential power. It is explained that an Exceed is a type of El-Awake, but Exceed are created artificially, while El-Awakes like Julie became one through raw emotion. The stage is set completely to create a vast difference between Tor and his classmates. Then again, as with most stories, that's nowhere near the end of it. Tor, due to his many situations, is faced with the difficulty of getting along with his other classmates, but along the path of scorn, he does make some powerful friends. Tomoe Tachibana, Miyabi Hotaka, Aoi Torasaki and Tatu who are students that also passed the qualification ceremony, the old principal, Sakuya Tsukumo, an energetic teacher, Rito Tsukimi, and Lilith Bristol, a transfer student. Lilith is very impulsive, and has a large amount of influence over the college system. So, when she hears about Tor and his shield, she transfers from the English Branch of Koryo College in order to pair up with Tor. Tor, having already formed a deep friendship with Julie, denies her proposal. When a battle tournament comes up for the college , Lilith, in a burst of anger, challenges the whole college to defeat her. Eventually, Tor, Julie, and their team take her down. Nevertheless, Lilith still not give up and try to win Tor's heart. Tor spends his college life with all his classmates and teachers, such as attending lessons, having tea with Lilith and strolling out in shopping malls once in a while. Tor also get along with a beauty named Silent Diva and Sarah, Lilith's butler as well. Tor's college life used to be all-normal until one day Equipment Smith and K interrupts the normal college lives of the Kouryou College's students because they have the same goal that is, to build a strong force that conquers the world with their co-produced Units. Equipment Smith is revealed to have deep vengeance towards Sakuya's family for exceeding his research and Lilith's family for abandoned him to search for another career. When the College held a summer trip at the island where located one of Koryo College's branch college , they sent rebellious forces to attack the students and kidnapped Miyabi, who feels depressed because she is weak to help her friends and wish for greater power. The College delivers a student card to each student, which works as a credit card and the limited credit per month is 100,000 yen. She is a girl with red eyes and silver hair. styled in twin tails who becomes Tooru Kokonoe partner at Kouryou Academy Lilith Bristol - She is one of the main characters of the series.
