Each Harbinger leads their own division within the Fatui. Dottore is Fatui Harbinger #2, since he is the second most powerful Fatui Harbinger. He wields incredible power, he is powerful enough to rival and destroy gods. Dottore can produce almost anything with his powerful scientific experiments at his private laboratory at the Fatui Headquarters. Delusions are powerful, Vision-like objects produced by the Fatui. Their production method and the number in circulation is unknown, but it appears to utilize the remains of deceased gods and other powerful beings. Like Visions, Delusions grant their wielders the ability to manipulate certain elements, but unlike Visions, they can be used by anyone, and are also supposedly far more powerful than Visions. Dottore is possesses a very powerful delusion granted by the Tsaritsa because he's a Fatui Harbinger. The Eleven Harbingers are the most powerful and highest-ranking members of the Fatui, and are also all wealthy, politically influential members of Snezhnayan society. The Fatui are a delegation of diplomats from the Zapolyarny Palace of Snezhnaya. There is also a military detachment led by the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and the Tsaritsa herself. They are one of the two main antagonistic factions alongside the Abyss Order in Genshin Impact and the main antagonists in the official supplementary manga. The Tsaritsa is the current Cryo Archon among The Seven, who presides over Snezhnaya. With supreme rule over Snezhnaya, she uses her loyal followers in the Fatui to manipulate and intimidate the other nations of Teyvat. Dottore's unfettered research towards creating a god, or elevating humans to the level of gods, left him ostracized from mainstream society but paved the way for him to become the Second of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, with strength comparable to the gods'. No subject is off-limits to him, and he has researched Khaenri'ah's Automatons; researched ways to weaponize forbidden knowledge and sought to utilize the power of dreams to elevate humanity's cognitive abilities, all for his goal of putting humans at the same level as gods. This ambition is likely the reason why Pantalone, who seeks to "overthrow the natural imbalance between gods and humans," works closely with Dottore. Dottore is disliked by several of his Harbinger colleagues, including Arlecchino and Sandrone. Arlecchino states that she would have killed him were he not a Harbinger and that his disappearance would be a "gift to the world," while Sandrone believes her automatons provide her with more normal human interaction than him. Before Dottore became the Fatui Harbinger, he was just a small innocent boy that was named Zandik. He was born in Sumeru. Zandik was smart, incredibly smart. He was always such a kind and respectful boy. Zandik has one problem, he wasn't treated well by anyone. No one loved him. He was bullied endlessly at school. The bullying persisted until he was a teenager at the Sumeru Akademiya. Zandik was fascinated by testing the limits of humanity and it's strength. He was very curious about how he could possibly research how humans could become greater and smarter. It wasn't exactly meant to be offensive, but people did not like it. Zandik held the notion of humans being "nothing more than a machine of a certain level of complexity," and people were outraged at him. He was called blasphemous and cruel for saying it, and he was eventually kicked out of Akademiya, which caused him severe mental trauma. He didn't like how he was being called a monster by everyone. Zandik couldn't do anything, no one loved him. Zandik was so desperate for something, he had no future ahead of him in Sumeru. His intelligence was mistaken as a threat by all of Sumeru. One fateful day, he finally got an opportunity to get what he always wanted. The Fatui invited him to work there, since they saw his intelligence as a good asset. Zandik knew that the Fatui were evil, and he didn't want to be evil, but he had no other choice. He joined the Fatui. He was treated better at the Fatui than at Akademiya, he had an actual career, and no one was there to hurt him. Still, no one loved him, though. The Fatui really liked his attitude and his intelligence. It led him to become even more evil, becoming obsessed with conducting experiments on people in the name of progressing technology. He got his private laboratory at the Fatui fortress, and he loved it. It was basically his playground for evil experiments. He had become evil, but he didn't care because he was too broken to care anymore. All he cared about was more power. The Tsaritsa eventually reached out to him, and gave him an opportunity he couldn't ever resist. The Tsaritsa offered his a delusion to become a Fatui Harbinger. He loved power, he couldn't resist the sweet feeling of power he could hold if he become a Fatui Harbinger. So he accepted. He became a Fatui Harbinger, and Tsaritsa gave him a new name, Il Dottore. A new name to separate himself from the innocent boy he once was. Even then, he couldn't talk to anyone. He was loveless, the only person he ever talked to was Pantalone and his greedy ass.
