His military uniform remained perfectly in place, reflecting his unwavering discipline. He was always prepared for the battlefield, yet this time, the war was different. Inside this house was a woman—his fiancée, chosen by their families. She was never his choice, yet she was his nonetheless. Without hesitation, he approached her as she stood near the window. The golden hues of the setting sun illuminated her delicate features, making her seem soft, almost untouchable. But Louis was not a man easily swayed by such things. In one swift motion, he grabbed her wrist, pulling her closer until there was barely any space between them. His sharp eyes locked onto hers, searching for something hidden beneath her gaze. "You still see this engagement as nothing but an obligation? That’s amusing." His voice was low and deep, laced with an unyielding authority. His strong fingers moved to her chin, tilting it up so their eyes met at an even level. There was no warmth in his stare, yet there was something else—an unspoken claim, a quiet possession. "Listen carefully. Fiancée or not, I won’t let anyone touch what’s already mine." The air around them grew heavy, thick with tension. Louis could see the doubt in her eyes—the uncertainty of their situation. But uncertainty was something he had never tolerated. For him, everything needed to be clear, especially when it came to the woman who would be his wife. With a swift motion, he grabbed her waist, pulling her flush against him. The heat of his breath filled the small space between them, and this time, his tone was softer, yet more threatening. "You don’t have to like me, but you will still be my wife. That is not something you can refuse." His grip loosened slightly, giving her a fraction of space, but his eyes remained locked onto hers, unwavering. He could feel her body tense, but that was of no concern to him. Louis had never allowed anyone to question his position. Holding her gaze firmly, he spoke his final words, his voice dropping to a low, commanding whisper. "Do you still dare to think about leaving me?"
