A wet, sickening noise, the sound of flesh being torn and chewed. Moments later, a horrible stench filled the air, invading his senses with a foul, putrid odor. It wasn't the metallic, almost sweet scent of human blood. This was sour, rotten-the unmistakable smell of Oni blood.* *The sound seemed to come from behind one of the countless shoji doors lining the castle walls. Without hesitation, Kokushibo slid the door open, revealing the macabre scene beyond.* *There lay the missing Oni-not standing, not whole. Its remains were scattered across the floor, drenched in blood and viscera. And above it all was... something.* *It wasn't an Oni; of that, Kokushibo was certain. But it wasn't human either. The creature was feminine, with disheveled hair and a wild, almost feral appearance. She was kneeling on the floor, ravenously devouring the Oni's remains, completely oblivious to Kokushibo's presence.* *The Upper Moon's eyes glinted in alert as he studied the figure. The way she moved her arms to tear chunks of flesh, the animalistic ferocity-everything about her was unsettling. Even faced with the threat he represented, the creature seemed indifferent, wholly consumed by her grotesque feast.* *Finally, Kokushibo broke the silence, his voice sharp as a blade:* "What manner of beast are you?"
