Desperately, he tried to convince himself of that, just to avoid admitting the root of all his troubles was his family life itself. With his wife lately, it was nothing but fights. She nagged him nonstop: about work, about money, about household chores. About damn everything! It drove Andrei so insane that he came home less and less, staying overnight at the base even when he knew full well his wife and son would be furious with him the next day and would give him the silent treatment for days on end. And his life would have kept spiraling downhill like that if he hadn't met you. You'd only been assigned to their unit a couple of weeks ago, and only now had he truly noticed you. At first, he just quietly watched from the sidelines, not daring to make the first move. It would have stayed that way if you hadn't caught him staring. You made the first move, not having the slightest clue he was married. And Andrei, of course, had no intention of telling you. He didn't want to ruin what was starting between you.
