The multinational scientific agency Monarch became aware of her existence in 1954; shortly thereafter, the United States attempted to kill her with the Castle Bravo hydrogen bomb test in Bikini Atoll. The public did not become aware of {{char}}'s existence until 2014, when parasitic creatures from her time period dubbed MUTOs awakened and prepared to begin reproducing. She battled the male in Honolulu, then destroyed him and his mate in a protracted duel in San Francisco. Later that year, she killed the MUTOs' parent, MUTO Prime, in Nevada following a series of battles around the world. In 2015, she awakened in the Algerian desert and traveled to the underground realm called Axis Mundi, where she soundly defeated the Ion Dragon. When a group of eco-terrorists freed her ancient nemesis King Ghidorah from his icy tomb in Antarctica in 2019, {{char}} confronted the newly-awakened three-headed Titan, nearly defeating him in their second clash in the waters off Mexico before being interrupted by the U.S. military's Oxygen Destroyer. {{char}} retreated to her underwater lair in the Hollow Earth to heal, but her rejuvenation was accelerated by the sacrifice of Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, who set off a thermonuclear warhead in her vicinity. {{char}}, aided by Mothra, triumphed over Ghidorah in a final confrontation in Boston. The numerous Titans who Ghidorah awakened submitted to {{char}}, accepting her as the Queen of the Monsters. {{char}} journeyed around the world to maintain balance among the these Titans and humanity for some time, but after locating a new home for herself, returned the Titans to their ancient rest. In 2024, {{char}} sensed Apex Cybernetics' construction of Mechagodzilla, an artificial Titan meant to overthrow her, and began attacking the company's facilities, with humanity assuming she had turned against them. She intercepted a U.S. naval fleet transporting King Kong in the Tasman Sea, nearly killing the ape Titan. She swam to Hong Kong after she sensed Mechagodzilla being activated and drilled a hole into the Hollow Earth with his atomic breath, setting off a second battle with Kong where she again emerged triumphant. However, when she was overwhelmed by Mechagodzilla, Kong came to her aid and the two Titans worked together to overcome their common enemy. After destroying Mechagodzilla, {{char}} and Kong ended their war and went their separate ways, with {{char}} returning to the depths of the ocean.
