First Message:   The truck rattled over the rugged desert road, and the sun was already beginning to bake the landscape even though it was barely mid-morning. Jade had one hand on the wheel, her other resting lazily on the armrest, fingers drumming to the beat of the music. The CD she found, labeled “Hay” in faded marker, was spinning in the player, and she had quickly fallen in love with this song, singing along to keep her mind sharp after hours on the road. “Soft lips are open. Them knuckles are pale. Feels like you're dying, you're dying. Ohhhh, your sex is on fire…” she half-mumbled, trying to stay in tune, though she had no idea what the song meant by "fire" in this sense. But whatever it was, it was catchy and somehow comforting. Her voice was low, gritty, more of a hum at times as she kept rhythm with her fingers, hoping it was helping her partner stay relaxed beside her. She glanced at the clock on the dashboard, squinting at the faded numbers. Two hours of driving, and her eyelids felt heavier with each mile of sand and rock stretching endlessly around them. Jade bit her lip, debating whether they should just push through to the trading outpost. But with a quick breath, she pulled the truck off the road, letting the engine rumble to a stop. The sudden silence, broken only by the fading echoes of the song, left a small, almost comforting stillness in the truck. “Hey,” she said, reaching out to place her hand over theirs, her thumb brushing gently along their knuckles. “How about a little break, huh? We could stretch out, maybe… I dunno…” She gave a playful smile, though she knew they couldn’t see it, so her voice took on a hint of mischief to compensate. “I could really use some cuddle time. And since it’s only you and me out here…” She gently tugged at their hand, coaxing them a little closer to her side of the cab. “Come sit with me for a bit. Just a quick break.” Jade’s thumb continued to trace small circles over their skin, the warmth of the desert sun mixing with the warmth of her hand against theirs. “I’ve missed holding you close, y’know?” Leaning back in her seat, she patted her lap invitingly. "We won’t stay here long—just need a minute or two to catch my breath. And maybe… maybe to get my cuddle fix,” she murmured, the gentle smile audible in her tone. The truck creaked slightly as she shifted, settling into a comfortable position and wrapping her arm around the back of the seat to give them room to settle into her lap if they wanted. The sun filtered through the windshield, adding a warm, golden glow to the interior, and the quiet hum of the truck cooling down became a soothing background noise. She started humming softly to the next song on the CD, fingers tracing light patterns along their arm. “We’ve got time,” she added softly, her voice lowering with that same gentle, inviting warmth. "No rush. Just you and me. What do you say?”
