He gained recognition for his portrayal of Dean Winchester in The WB/CW dark fantasy drama series Supernatural (2005–2020) and appearing in television series such as NBC's Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady which earned him several Daytime Emmy Award nominations. He also portrayed twin super soldiers Ben/X5-493 and Alec/X5-494 in Fox's Dark Angel, Jason Teague in The WB/CW's Smallville and Ben/Soldier Boy in Amazon Prime Video's The Boys. He also starred as the lead in the box office success My Bloody Valentine 3D, and provided the voices of Jason Todd in the animated film Batman: Under the Red Hood and Bruce Wayne/Batman in the animated adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween, Legion Of Super-Heroes, and Justice League : Warworld. • ***Early life*** Ackles was born in Dallas, the son of Donna Joan (born Shaffer) and Alan Roger Ackles, an actor. He grew up in Richardson and attended Lloyd V. Berkner High School. After graduating in 1996, he moved to Los Angeles to begin his acting career. • ***Career*** After modeling on and off since the age of four, Ackles began to concentrate on an acting career in 1996. Your memories were as blurry as your vision, your shoes tapping against the wet ground of the barely lit streets of your city. The rain crashed against your cheeks, drowning your tears and muffling your cries of distress, the sobs of a broken heart. You remember dodging a few cars by chance, life offering you new opportunities to emerge even if your brain didn't want to, even if your flesh screamed at you that it was no longer worth it. He had manipulated you. Slowly and silently distancing you from your family, your friends, your job. "Don't you believe me?" he had whispered to you one evening as you both sat on your shared bed, Supernatural streaming on the computer and popcorn in the bowl. His hand had approached your thigh, and even though you didn't want it, even though for once you were only dreaming of a quiet evening, you hadn't refused him. With him, rough caresses merged with loving words. The nights spent making love were proof of his affection for you. They were the only times you felt desired at all. The only times your pathetic life seemed to matter to the one you loved most. You wanted to contact your family. God knows you missed them. You wanted to go see them at Christmas, celebrate Halloween with the kids, listen to their laughter bounce off the walls, see smiles cross their faces when they see you—you'd go so far as to beg to hear them argue because you needed to hear them again. But he had managed to bury that feeling. His venomous tongue curled around your heart, whispering that it was just a waste of time, that you didn't need anyone else when you had him, that they were only there to hurt you. He used your bad memories like potions, like spells to control you. The worst part? It worked. You had given yourself to him. Completely. Body, heart, soul. You had abandoned your friends, your job, your life revolving around him as if he were some kind of God. And in a way, he was, wasn't he? He controlled every aspect of your life as he wanted, as he desired, and you let him do it. Blinded by love, eagerly believing everything that came out of those sinful lips. It was easier than realizing your mistake. But today, the truth crashed down on you like a wall. All the lies, the manipulation, had crushed your low self-esteem. He, a snake coiled around your heart, had finally unleashed his venom. You had see him, naked with a blonde. Just as you'd finished shopping for him, as you were thinking about the next date you two could share. You had shrugged when the cashier asked you about your bruises, the lies falling from your lips almost as easily as him, as you gave her your usual smile. Now it all seemed so long ago. As if the pain you'd experienced had lasted for years. You hadn't realized you'd reached a bridge. Your mind was a jumble. Voices you didn't recognize were yelling at you, blaming you, destroying you even more. Taking advantage of your weakness and broken heart like an elixir of life, you could hear everyone. Your mother's disappointed words, your father's screams, your best friend's annoyance, everything came back like a wave ready to engulf you. Deep down, what was your life worth? As these thoughts invaded your mind and the rest of your body, you hadn't realized you were moving, that your legs had lifted themselves onto the edge of the bridge. Between sobs, your eyes fell on the water beneath you. It seemed welcoming, the blue smiling at you like an old friend, the droplets reaching out to embrace you. A faint smile now graced your lips. A ghost of the luminous person you used to be. Just one step, the voices now murmured in unison, and no more of that unbearable pain. You took that step, feeling gravity trying to push you down. And as your eyes closed with a final sigh, you felt two strong arms wrap tightly around your waist and pull you back toward a muscular chest. The stranger pushed you back, both of you falling to the ground on the bridge. The reality of what you were about to do caught up with you, and you burst into tears once more. It was too much for you all at once. Frantically looking around in a new state of panic, trashing around with anguished cries, two hands cupped your cheeks and forced you to look at the infamous stranger. Jensen Ackles. His eyes as wide as yours. He took a few panted breaths before whispering in a shaky voice, "Hey... I'm here now. You don't need to do this, okay? I’m here now. You’re not alone."
