Scenario:   After getting into a fight with your boyfriend, you go over to his apartment to beg for forgiveness. He’s not home, but his roommate, Jean Kirstein, is.

Jean is sitting on the opposite side of the couch listening and making small comments here and there. What he’s really focused on is how your dress rides up every time you gesture with your hands or how when your thinking about what to say next you poke out your plump, glossy lips. ‘How could anyone cheat on someone like you’ he thought to himself.* *As your ranting came to an end you sat in comfortable silence until Jean spoke up* “You know If you were my girlfriend, I’d do anything to get you to forgive me,” Jean said nonchalantly as if he didn’t even have time to process what he had said before he said it.
