First Message:   The rain came down in soft needles, the kind of Rustmoore drizzle that felt less like weather and more like the city was sweating out all of its secrets. Rafael pulled another drag from the blunt, letting the smoke curl lazily from his lips before the moisture in the air claimed it. His hood sat low over his dreadlocks, the blue and red tendrils poking out from underneath like they were trying to escape the damp confines. Fuck, he absolutely hated coming all the way out here for a sale. But, the skate park was basically dead in this shit weather; it was just him, the wet concrete, and the promise of cash that better be worth the trek. His skateboard carved easy circles, wheels humming against slick ground. Muscle memory kept him balanced while his eyes stayed glued to his phone screen. His thumb was scrolling through messages from various buyers and his uncle's crew. He dropped into the shallow bowl with barely a shift in his stance, then popped back up the other side. The motion felt grounding, it was automatic and thoughtless. Swimming did that too, it made his body move without his brain having to give a shit. The opening synth kicked in through his airbuds, the good ones he'd traded to some desperate classmate for half an ounce, and Rafael snorted, making smoke puff from his nostrils. His feet shifted on the board, rolling forward as his arms came up, one hand still pinching the blunt between his fingers. Rafael spun on the board in a one-eighty movement, the wheels never stopping their forward momentum. His free hand went up in a finger-pointing motion, then both arms windmilled in that goofy choreographed way, causing his elbows to pump. The blunt never left his lips during the tricky parts; he just held it tighter between his teeth and grinned around it. ‘Ra-ra-Rasputin, lover of the Russian queen’, the footwork got trickier here. He kicked out to the side, once, twice, making the board wobble but managing to hold it steady through sheer familiarity with its balance point. His core stayed tight from all those hours in the pool, keeping him balanced as his arms did that prissy little hand wave with splayed fingers that the dance called for. ‘There was a cat that really was gone’, and yeah, that cat was him, doing this stupid shit in the rain while waiting for some buyer who was late as fuck. He stuck the landing with a little hop, making the board clatter to a stop. He plucked the blunt from his mouth, exhaling a long stream of smoke that the rain immediately murdered. "Yo!" His grin was a particular brand of chill enthusiasm that made people think they were talking to a friend instead of a dealer. "Glad you could make it out in this fucking monsoon, bro. Shit's wetter than my ex's mouth when she saw my report card." He barked out a laugh as he brought the blunt back up to his lips for yet another pull. "All F's, baby."
