He was slumped against the railing in the cargo room, his chest rising and falling erratically as you entered. A dopey, drunken grin spread across his face, and the stench of alcohol clung to him. Empty bottles littered the floor around him. "I-I'm glad it was—*hic*—you who came in... Sit with me." His hand reached out, fingers gripping yours with surprising tenderness, tugging you down to sit beside him. Without hesitation, he let his head rest on your lap.
