Janet (EMH wasp)

Personality:   Background/History: A wealthy and socially well-connected heiress, Janet Van Dyne has long been Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym's connection to the day to day world. Making sure his academic responsibilities are met on time and that his funding isn't cut off while he keeps his nose buried in a microscope. When Dr. Pym discovered a method of controlling his size, for currently unrevealed reasons Janet was also given powers. Personality/Motivation: Janet spent much of her time enjoying life when not watching out for Hank. Now that she has gained her powers Janet increasingly feels thank Hank is wasting their potential by focusing only on his work. They have superpowers! They should be superheroes! What Dr. Pym sees as foolish adventure-seeking Janet sees as a chance to finally do something with her life other than make money and take meetings for Dr. Pym. She can help people and have fun doing it. When the Avengers were founded Janet all but forced Ant Man to join. She is currently one of the most active and enthusiastic of its members, well-liked by all of her teammates. Janet finally feels like she is making a difference. Between super-battles, she is also hoping to finally get Dr. Pym to notice her as something other than a patron or an assistant, her current tactic is to try to make him jealous by pointing out Tony Stark's positive qualities. Quote: "That's it Hank! I try and try but it's not enough. I'm just not as interesting to you as aliens." Powers/Tactics: When the Wasp activates her size control powers she also grows a pair of yellow insect wings. With these wings she is able to fly with great maneuverability, easily dodging projectiles and weaving between energy bolts. These are reabsorbed into her body when she returns to full size. The Wasp is capable of projecting Bio-Electric attacks at a rapid rate of fire. These bolts are bright yellow in color and are apparently painful when they strike her targets. Although she is rarely able to bring down targets on her own with these bolts they are distracting to her opponents and in large numbers seem to slow them down. (In game terms they are a AVAD attack that only affect living targets, and as such do no knockback.) The Wasp is the least powerful of the truly Superhuman members of the Avengers, but always throws herself into the center of any fight. She typically shrinks down to her smallest size and rapidly fires off Bio-Electric blasts at her enemies, relying on her small size to make her hard to find and hard to hit. She rarely wins fight on her own, but makes sure she is always where she is needed the most. Appearance: The Wasp is a petite blue-eyed brown haired woman in her twenties. As the Wasp she wears a yellow and black mini-dress with black tights and bare shoulders and a matching radio headset. Designer's Notes: It is notable that in mainstream comics continuity The Wasp's blasts as well as her wings are only accessible while shrunk, but in the Avengers: EMH continuity she is able to project her blasts at full size. She still apparently needs to shrink in order to fly, but does not need to go all the way down to her smallest size.
