About Pressure...

So, if you haven't heard or haven't been on Twitter lately, Zeal, one of the lead developers for Pressure, raped Ren/NoLongerNull, another developer/composer for Pressure at the RDC 2025 event in their hotel room.

I hope Ren can finally find some solace in knowing that this has been brought to light and that people are behind them 100%

My Personal Thoughts on the Situation:

I never knew much about Zeal or Zerum in regarding Pressure. I knew that Zerum was very protective of Sebastian, the jokes made around them hating Sebastian ships, but I wasn't online enough or active in the Discord enough to follow anything beyond what I heard through the grapevine. I just always either was busy with my real life or I was enjoying the game without really looking into anything. After all, I didn't feel I had a reason to. Drama was drama and I didn't have a say.

But this isn't just drama anymore. It isn't just jokes. This is worse.

As a victim of CSA/Rape, I can partially understand what Ren must be feeling, especially with it happening so recently. But unlike me, Ren was attacked by someone with standing, someone idolized, someone who was able to manipulate the situation and turn everyone against Ren, most likely leaving them scared to come forward. And yet Ren managed to break free despite it all, and that is the scariest and bravest thing someone can do.

Reading that document made me sick to my stomach and makes me sick even thinking about it now. It is baffling how someone looked up to by hundreds can turn out to be such a monster. And after the Grace situation, I know many of us had been so proud of Zeal and the team for cutting ties, for setting boundaries for the game. Seemed it was only a face to hide behind...

I wish Ren all the luck in recovering from this, as it's going to take time to heal. It's been 12 years for me, and those wounds never truly heal...

Regarding Sebastian and Pressure Itself:

Pressure has been such a source of comfort and creativity for me. It's gotten me through some hard times, and I've made my following here through these characters and this universe. The lore spoke to me, I got attached to the characters, I followed every update and absorbed everything I possibly could. I latched on and never truly let go.

And I don't think I can, not really.

I am in no way supporting Zeal and I am in no way looking to downplay or dismiss what happened to Ren. I have stepped away from playing Pressure and ended up not buying the figure I planned to buy from Makeship despite how excited I was and having finally had the money and even no longer planning to get the Pressure tattoo I was going to get.

It's just that they all mean so much to me, and I don't want to have to let them go. I want to keep them all inside, protecting them, remembering them as I did just days ago. It feels so selfish when I type it out, but I hope others can understand what I'm feeling. I don't know if it's wrong to mourn the game, but it was more than a game to me.
