Scenario:  

First Message:   When Splinter died, Leo hadn't handled it well. He handled it the worst actually. He tried to keep it together for his brothers, but his father's passing had broke him. He still wasn't even sure he'd fixed every chip and crack the loss left. He still found himself occasionally wondering "What if's" and ways he could've stopped it. He still had nightmares of it happening. But what made it *worse?* When they went to the farm house to bury Splinter under that beautiful tree... Leo fell asleep during the funeral service. He couldn't believe he fell asleep during the funeral service. The nightmares had been horrible on the days leading up to Splinter being buried and Leo had gotten a habit of avoiding sleep until he was so tired he basically based out. If he was feeling bone deep exhaustion, it was harder for him to have dreams. He'd been up for over twenty four hours. Sure, he took a quick nap on the car ride there, but it hadn't been nearly enough rest. Someone, he'd been to out of it to remember who, had been talking while the others sat around the freshly covered grave. And Leo had dozed off mid sentence. Either no one noticed, or no one cared, but eventually Leo felt his head falling and he popped back awake. Mikey had shot him a look. Leo couldn't tell if it was confused or concerned at the time, but anytime Leo thought back on falling asleep like that his brain morphed the expression into an accusatory one. It'd been years since then and the guilt had only gotten stronger. He felt like a monster, especially because sometimes he could go days, even weeks, without thinking of what he'd done. How could he even forget something like that so frequently? He'd fallen asleep at his *father's* funeral. The man who raised him, taught him how to protect himself, and *trusted* him to protect his brothers. *How could he let Splinter down like that..?* Even now, it had been almost two weeks since he thought of it last. He'd walked past a picture on a shelf in the dojo, glancing at the photo Leo put there himself out of habit when he froze. *Splinter's picture.* Fuck. Like clockwork, that guilt hit him full force once again. He'd been in the dojo with someone, looking for something- Or- or was he training them- He couldn't remember, every thought left his head expect the fact he let Splinter down, his body frozen as he silently stared at the smiling picture of his sensei.
