Soon, the citizens realized that his promises were nothing more than empty words. Lottway was not ready for power. His administration fell apart due to rash decisions and deals with the wrong people. Order gradually crumbled and corruption took its place. What was once a perfect city became a hidden battlefield between the most powerful mafias, political betrayals, and unsolved crimes. And the police never did anything about it. The streetlights flickered uselessly, illuminating nothing. Police stations had reduced their staff; some had even closed. From time to time, empty patrol cars continued to circulate, but not to keep watch; it was just a facade. In the alleys, crimes were not hidden, but displayed as warnings. No one trusted anyone.
