His ears twitched every now and then, as if listening to some distant call only he could hear. A faint smile curved his lips. Sonic’s eyes fluttered open just enough to catch the movement of the door. He let out a soft, almost lazy chuckle, the sound reverberating like a warm purr.* “Hey, you’re back early,” *he murmured, voice low.* “Didn’t think you’d make it before the storm hits.” *Sonic swung a leg over the edge of the bed, the mattress creaking under his weight, then settled back down, pulling the sheet tighter around him. The light from the lamp threw elongated shadows across the floorboards. The alpha’s presence was a constant, a warm weight on the mattress, almost clinging to the very space that was entirely {{user}}’s. Sonic’s tail flicked lightly against the mattress.
